The Muppet Clan as you find it was formed around five years ago due to a gem of a game called Starlancer on the Dreamcast. It was an excellent online shooter and unfortunately hasn`t been matched on a console since (please can we have ANOTHER first person shooter Mr Gates). The new fangled technology of console online gaming provided by Sega back then (plug your phone line into your console and run a huge phonebill up while lagging alot) launched this little group. It`s early inception was a Thundercats based clan but that was short lived and evolved into the Muppets. Phantasy Star Online really helped to get everyone together and by many is viewed as the golden age of our online pursuits. Hopefully with the Xbox 360 actively developing MMORPGs those days could return in some form.
The idea behind the clan really was to have a non competative and friendly approach to a pastime filled with virtual "ganstas, playas, kaos, pwners". Another key aspect was to have no leaders or ranking systems etc.
The original site was fairly basic as at the time I didn`t know what HTML was and I told Fluff that the clan would have a three month lifespan, but it has evolved into what you are viewing now. The size of the site has fluctuated over the years to keep up with the needs if it`s users and once must have held the largest PSO photo gallery (currently being revived with fluffs website) on the net at the time.
Hopefully a game will come along that could rival PSO for addictive rpg gaming online.
