With A Crisis
While most injuries are predictable and preventable, it is important
to be prepared if emergencies do occur.
Post these numbers next to the Phone
-
911 Emergency Services
-
ambulance, fire and police where 911 is not in use.

local hospital/medical center
-
Your facility/home address and phone number
-
POISON CONTROL CENTER for your area. Call your local health
unit or licensing department if you do not have the number or check your
local telephone book.

Social Services in the event of suspected abuse.

local Licensing Office
-
local Health Unit/Department
-
alternate provider in case of emergency
Keep in a small box by the phone up-to-date file cards which list:

work and home phone numbers of parents/guardians and emergency contacts

names, addresses and phone numbers of children's doctors and dentists

medical information/insurance numbers (See: Example
Emergency Card)

Make sure all phone numbers and contacts are keep current!
First Aid Kits

Attach a list of contents to the inside cover or lid of all First Aid
Kits and check it regularly! Keep it well stocked.

Place a copy of the file card (above) inside your First Aid Kit for
emergencies during field trips away from the home as well.

Keep a roll of quarters in any portable First Aid Kits for emergency
phone calls to hospitals, parents, doctors or others.

Remember - You can dial 911 without using a coin!

Take a First Aid Course and keep it current!
