Beer Review: Almaza

As far as the few Middle Eastern beers I have tried, this one is by far the best. Smoother and lighter than Morocco’s Casablanca beer, Almaza is a mellow pilsener that compliments maza (appetizers), poultry, and breads. According to Almaza’s website, their product has been around since 1933, with their brewery turning out over 1000 bottles an hour. Although this beer is renowned in Lebanon, and is likely to be found in many restaurants and bars in the Middle East, it isn’t easy to come by in the United States. If you are lucky enough to find one, don’t hesitate to try it. -- Dopplebock
