
Caleta de Chon: Travelling from Zihuatanejo and beginning with the lighthouse, best known for it’s underwater rocks. Caleta de Chon is an area of calm water, ideal for photography and fish spotting. It is located 1·5 kms outside of Zihuatanejo port and is one of the places closest to the pier.
Piedra Solitaria: Opposite the lighthouse is the Piedra Solitaria. A circular route around the rock can be undertaken at various depths and always allows you to experience a huge variety of sea life. Large rock formations, an abundance of algae and different species of fish swimming in shoals make it a special dive site. This site is ideal for night dives, deep dives, multi-level dives and many others. The Piedra Solitaria is situated only 3·75 kms away from Zihuatanejo Pier, its a wonderful place to submerge yourself in; the spectacular water around a rock crowned by a lighthouse its walls going down to 132 feet, there are endless possibilities for your tour.
Sacramento: A chain of rock formations, the most distinct of which stands as a pyramid. The seabed is made up of large rocks, tunnels and little caves that intertwine and shoals of angelfish follow you around like butterflies. This is an excellent place for divers to expand on their experience and also for underwater photography.
Islas Blancas: Out to sea in front of the hotel zone in Ixtapa you can find the Islas Blancas. It takes about 25 minutes to get to the dive site where you can find depths from 20 feet to 70 feet. Its an excellent place for those that wish to practice snorkeling, take part in the Discover Diving course or just relax and dive. The distance away from the coast means that the area is alive with flora and fauna. Ixtapa Island: From the pier at Playa Linda, travelling north of Ixtapa you find Ixtapa Island and some beautiful dive sites. There is a wealth of tropical fish and interlocking tunnels and caves to enjoy, all at a safe enough depth to ensure risk free fun. There is also an opportunity for those who would like to snorkel from the beach and enjoy time with the family. It’s an excellent place for people to do their first dive.
Morros del Potosí : Great granite rocks stand free from the water, their whiteness also giving them the name, "Los Frailes Blancos". They live in perfect equilibrium with marine life and the great quantity of birds such as pelicans and gulls that live there. The Morros del Potosi offer a multitude of dives, full of fascinating surprises like caves, cliffs, walls, tunnels and coral formations. This site is very safe and far enough away from the port to be beautiful, clean and almost untouched. You can find a huge variety of fish, more than in any other dive site in the area. The site offers a variety of depths ranging from 30 feet to 130 feet – perfect for all kinds of divers.
