R.I.P. 2003
this project was a short lived celebration of the consumer driven cultural wasteland that we
are drowning in. this project started from the
ashes of armed & hammered (our satirical/sarcastic/parody of socialist
revolutionary bands; all about drunken socialist revolution, the oppression
of the drinking class, etc, etc, etc.) formed by members of smeat and face down. our accomplishments included: one live performance (the smeat cd release party, that smeat didn't play at),
and an unfinished 7" (4 finished instrumental tracks that we never got around to recording the vocals on seeing as how it was recorded the day before i left chico for japan).
from the ashes of enjyokousai came the makai. this is what happens when i leave a project, they get clean and epic sounding. what happened to the noise and feedback?
enjyokousai, literally
translated from japanese meaning "pleasuring old men". culturally this
means underage prostitutes. enjyokousai is basically a social problem
in japan that they are trying to keep secret due to how embarrassing
this is culturally. junior high and high school aged girls are resorting
to prostitution so that they can buy all the latest fashions and trends.
this is only the logical end of consumerism and the media brain washing
experiment we're all being subjected to. if you own the right apparel,
live the right consumption based lifestyle, you will be loved by members
of the opposite sex and peers. you will finally be just as cool as the
people who are whoring themselves out to corporations and media interests
who you are modeling your life after.
not that anyone cares, but here's
the japanese version of the logo.
