Akira Toriyama

Well, in my opinion, Akira Toriyama, is the greatest mangakas or manga artist ever lived. He is famous in all parts of the world because of his archievements and contribution.

About his life
Akira Toriyama was born on April 5th, 1955 in Aichi Prefecture. He graduated from the design department of the Prefectural industrial high school. He started working at an advertising firm. He quickly grew tired of the job and decided to draw mangas instead. He debuted his work in 1978 in a weekly manga magazine called Shuukan Shonen Jump with a short comic called "Wonder Island". His first major success came the following year with a manga called Dr. Slump. This manga lasted until 1984, the year he started Dragonballs. The Dragonballs manga ran for ten years and wrapped in the spring 1995. A reason he ended the Dragonball series was because of the hectic weekly schedule he went through. Akira likes to draw manga at a more leisurely pace so that he can have time for himself and his family. Besides drawling mangas he also was character designer for several video games for Super Nintendo and Sony Playstation.

His contribution and archievments towards manga.
After about eight years of Dr. Slump, he ended the series, and shortly after created yet another hit (more like the BEST) series, Dragon Ball, which he also concluded just recently, after continuing it for over ten years. He also made many short stories through the years, and they have been collected into condensed into a few volumes. Along the way, Akira Toriyama has also been hired to be the character designer of several home video games, including the Dragon Warrior series, Chrono Trigger, His latest involvement is the game Tobal No.1, a 3D fighter for the Sony Playstation.

A bit on the side
Mr Toriyama is 174cm tall (that's about 5' 8 1/2"), and is a family man; he has two children, a son and a daughter, both of whom he can't help but spoil. He also has cat, which he adopted after he found it drenched in the rain. And he was a bit of the Jackie Chan fan.

In conclusion
Well, I really do appreciate his work, for creating the best, greatest manga's of all time. YOUR A GOD MAN. If you dont know what im talking about, well dammit watch TV, and rent some of his videos.
