Luke Alexis and Lesley Lu walked off the hospital elevator together, the perfect family. Lesley Lu was beaming, happily enjoying her father's attention for the first time in months.
Bobbie couldn't believe her eyes. Walking down the hospital corridor was Lesley Lu, with Luke on one side of her and Alexis on the other.
"Hi there, what's going on?" She asked wondering what on earth had put together this trio.
"Hi aunt Bobbie." Lesley Lu greeted. "Daddy married Alexis and I have a new baby sister, well sort of. Isn't that cool?"
"Pumpkin why don't you and Alexis take a peek at the baby, I need to talk with your aunt for a minute."
Considering the look on her face Alexis almost felt guilty for leaving Luke alone with Bobbie. However after she heard the first; "What the hell were you thinking?" She was glad to be out of firing range. Alexis entered the nursery and went immediately to Kristina. Picking her up she then bent down to give Lesley Lu a better view.
"Wow she's pretty."
"Would you like to hold her?" The little girl's eyes lit up at the prospect of her own living doll to hold. She quickly climbed up onto the rocking chair and held out her hands. Alexis carefully placed her daughter in the little girls arms, making sure her head was supported. Kristina seemed fascinated by Lesley Lu and cooed up at her.
"She likes me."
"She has good taste."
"Luke, I just don't understand." Bobbie repeated sounding extremely frustrated.
"I told you, Alexis and I are married."
"That much I get, what I don't understand is why?"
"Why not?"
"Are you trying to be obtuse?"
"Really I don't see what your problem is Barbara Jean. Why shouldn't I marry Alexis?"
"Well, for one thing you're still in love with Laura."
"Laura has nothing to do with this."
"Okay fine, putting Laura aside for now. Alexis is a Cassadine."
"You don't say?"
"Luke could you be serious for a few minutes?"
"Look Barbara Jean I married Alexis of my own free will and she did the same. We're both consenting adults and we're not hurting anyone, so it's no one else's business."
"Alexis I have been calling you all day, where have you..." Cameron stopped mid-sentence when he saw the little girl holding Kristina. "Hello there."
"Cameron, this is Luke's daughter Lesley Lu, sweetie this is doctor Lewis."
"Hello," the little girl greeted looking at him carefully. "You don't look like a duck."
"Um...should I?" Cameron asked confused by the girl's observation.
"My Daddy said you quack so I thought maybe you would look like a duck." She explained. Alexis tried unsuccessfully not to giggle as she turned to Lesley Lu.
"No sweetie, Dr Lewis doesn't quack, he is a quack."
"Hey!"
"Oh." Lesley Lu nodded as though it all made sense. "Did you know Daddy and Alexis got married?"
"I had heard." Cameron answered with a grimace.
"Isn't it neat?"
"That's one word for it."
"Hey there Doc," Luke greeted as he entered the room tossing his arm over Alexis' shoulder.
"Luke."
"Daddy, isn't Kristina cute?" Drawing Luke's attention to the baby for the first time.
"She's adorable, and strikingly familiar." He replied with a sudden grin in Alexis' direction. "You know I suddenly think I should have asked a few more questions before our wedding."
"Not now, Luke." Alexis warned.
"Listen I need to go do something, I'll meet you and cupcake later?"
"Luke you're not going to do something stupid, are you?"
"Probably, but not the thing you're worried about." He assured her, giving first Lesley Lu then her a kiss on the cheek before leaving.
