Stefan looked over the papers on his desk. Someone knocked on the door. Come in he invited absently concentrating on the papers in front of him. However when he glanced up and saw Alexis he quickly gave her his full attention.
"Are you okay? What are you...?"
"I have some questions and you're the only one who can answer them." She told him without any sign of emotion. She wanted to make it clear that she had only come for answers and she had not forgiven him.
"Please sit down", he invited. As soon as she sat she began to question him.
"Where is my child?"
"I don't know." He answered too quickly.
"Come on you don't actually expect me to believe that do you? You're a control freak Stefan there's no way you would just hand the child over and never look back. You must have kept in contact with the family that adopted my baby."
"Alexis why are you asking, surely you're not thinking of trying to find this person?"
"Why not?"
"You have Jillian and another child on the way. You and Mr. Corinthos are happy. Why risk it all? This isn't a child we're talking about Alexis it's an adult who has their own life, their own parents. Alexis don't do this, nothing good will come of it. I did what I did all those years ago so that you could move on forget about what happened."
"You think I forgot? Every day I remember Stefan, I wonder what if? It was my child and I deserved to be able to raise it. I don't even know if it was a boy or girl, please Stefan."
"I didn't keep in touch with the family, I didn't even speak to the doctor after that day. Alexis the child was never meant to be, can you honestly tell me that you would have been better off living with a constant reminder of what happened?"
"My child was innocent Stefan, I loved that baby, regardless of how it came to be."
"If that is true then consider what is best for the child. He or she probably has a wonderful life, do you really want to burden them with the Cassadine legacy."
"Helena's dead Stefan. None of the others matter."
"There are other things to consider."
"Relax Stefan, I'm not about to tell anyone about that. I made a promise and no good will come from breaking it. I love Nicolas and I would never hurt him, not even to get back at you."
"Thank you."
"Stefan, please tell me where my child is?" She knew what his answer would be even before she asked but she couldn't stop herself. She wanted to believe that he would come through for her.
"I can't."
Alexis walked out of Stefan's office and was greeted by the sight of Sonny.
"Are you okay?" He asked tersely.
"If you're going to yell can you wait until tomorrow? I don't think I can handle it right now." Sonny can forward and took her into his arms holding her tightly.
"Do you have any idea how much I love you?" He asked gently kissing her.
