"I'm sorry Alexis doesn't live here anymore." Jason told the children.
"She moved?" The girl asked looking panicked. "Oh this is great, just great. How long ago did she leave? Where did she go? Is she still in town?"
"Sasha, breathe." The boy at her side instructed and Jason realised why she seemed so familiar.
"CJ, in case you haven't noticed we're in trouble, big trouble, and now we have no idea where she is, I don't have time to breathe!"
Sonny sat across the table from Alexis watching her eat, smiling and remembering the last meal they had shared. So many things had happened since that day, so many mistakes had been made.
"I miss you." Not until she stopped eating and looked up at him in surprise did Sonny realise he had said the words out loud. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. He gave her a sad smile. I know you still hate me, I know you..."
"I don't hate you." She admitted softly.
"You don't?"
"Sonny I hate what happened, I hate that my sister was taken from us but I know that it wasn't your fault. I shouldn't have said those things to you at the funeral, after all I'm hardly one to judge."
"What are you talking about?"
"That day, I told you you were cursed, that everyone you loved ended up dead but it wasn't you. It was me, I'm the one who is cursed Sonny, my mother, Kristina, Chloe... I was responsible, it was because of me." She continued on though he tried to stop her.
"You have to understand I would do anything to protect my child. That's what I need to focus on, keeping my child safe."
"Safe from what? Capwell?"
"No, Sonny please just leave it alone."
"See this is why I wanted Johnny here."
"Sonny..."
"No just listen. You're hiding something from me for some reason and whatever it is has you scared. The last time this happened your psycho brother was running a muck and I almost lost you." Sonny stopped and looked at her wondering if he had said too much, if she would question his words but before she could say anything the phone rang.
Alexis silently cursed whomever was on the other line, wishing she could ignore the ringing but knowing it might be important.
"Hello?"
"Hi, you need to come over to the house, now." An angry voice told her.
"Ned? What's going on?"
"Just come over, please."
"I'm on my way." She said but he had already hung up.
"What's going on?"
"That was Ned, I need to go."
"I'll walk you out."
Jason watched in amazement as the young girl continued to talk and pace not letting either male get a word in.
"Excuse me," Jason interrupted her at last, "I know where Alexis moved to, I can give you the address."
"Why didn't you say so in the first place?" The girl asked immediately calming down. CJ merely rolled his eyes and gave Jason a sympathetic look.
Suddenly the door to Penthouse 4 flew open and Carly came storming out.
"Oh Jason, do you know where Sonny is? I've been trying to call him for the last hour but his phone is turned off." She said ignoring the two children.
"I have no idea where Sonny is." Jason told her before turning his attention back to the children. "Okay, she lives..."
"Who are they?" Carly asked upset that Jason was all but ignoring her.
"Hello ma'am I'm CJ and this is my sister Sasha." The boy introduced politely.
"They are looking for Alexis." Jason told her and all three saw Carly turn an odd shade of purple.
"Of course they are, everything is about Alexis. If I hear one more word about that bit-"
"Carly," Jason interrupted angrily. Before he could say anything else he saw the girls eyes flash in anger.
"Oh no." CJ moaned as Sasha took a step closer to Carly.
"What right do you have to say whom we can discuss? She is better than you will ever be. How dare you call her names you lamia."
"What the hell is a lamia?" Carly screeched.
"It's a Greek mythological creature that eats children and sucks the blood from men." CJ explained before turning to his sister. "Dad told you not to call people names." He admonished her.
"Well I'm glad to hear someone's tried to teach you some manners..." Carly began.
"A shame the same can't be said for you." Came the barely audible reply.
"Okay you know what I think?"
"I'm going to assume that's rhetorical."
"Sasha we don't have time for this." CJ reminded her just as the elevator door opened and Sonny walked out.
"There you are. Where have you been? I've been calling..."
Sonny did not hear a word she said his eyes were focussed on the young girl before him.
"Hello there, I'm Sonny Corinthos can I help you with something?"
"Um, we're looking for Alexis Davis, Jason said he would give us her address." CJ replied because his sister, for once, was speechless.
"Actually Alexis isn't home right now, she was heading out when I left."
"You were with Alexis?" Carly yelled at the same time Sasha regained her tongue.
"But we need to see her, now, it's a matter of life and death."
"Well I know she went to the Quartermains, um her friend's house." He explained unaware that they knew all about the Quatermain's. "I can drive you guys over there." Sonny offered.
"Great." CJ replied.
"Do you have any photo identification?"
"Excuse me?" Sonny asked confused by the girls question.
"We're not just going to climb into a strangers car." She pointed out.
"Um, sure." Pulling out his wallet Sonny displayed his drivers licence for the girl to inspect. The question was why were they unwilling to ride with a stranger but okay with taking a ride from him, did they know who he was, Sonny wondered?
"All right Mr Corinthos, we would be grateful for a ride."
Without a word the children entered the elevator followed by Sonny. Leaving Jason to deal with the lamia.
Alexis entered the Quartermain living room to find the entire family was gathered. Alan and Monica were arguing on the sofa. AJ and Ned were hurling insults across the room while Skye and Edward plotted together in the far corner. As soon as she stepped fully into the room all discussion stopped and every eye focussed on her.
"Hi, what's going on?"
"That's exactly what we would like to know young lady."
"Grandfather please let me handle this." Ned interrupted.
"Yes, because you've done a bang up job so far." AJ smirked.
"Shut up Junior."
"Ned leave AJ alone."
"I don't need you to defend me Mom."
"Would someone please tell me what's going on here?" Alexis demanded.
"Well you see dear we have known the Capwells for many years, not closely you understand but well enough. Anyway Ned viewed this as a reason not to do the standard checks that normally accompany a deal of this magnitude. Luckily for him I am not so trusting." Alexis could feel her airways constricting. "And I found out something very interesting," Edward continued. "Would you care to guess what it is Alexis? Or should I say Julia?"
The stunned silence in the room was broken when Reginald entered followed by Sonny.
"Get that criminal out of my house!" Edward bellowed.
"It's my house!"
"I gave it to you!"
"Um Alexis I need to speak to you."
"Sonny now is not a good time, get out." Ned yelled.
Then for the first time, Alexis saw the two small figures that stepped out from behind Sonny and suddenly everything faded to black.
