Chapter 1

Alexis had had it with men, particularly the three standing in her living room at the moment. Sonny and Jax were arguing over something yet again and Ned who had been dropping Kristina off from yet another "failed attempt to recapture his long passed youth" date, was now trying to referee. Actually that was probably not the right term since referees were supposed to be impartial and Ned was obviously siding with Jax. Kristina was in the kitchen making some herbal concoction that was supposed to calm everyone's nerves. Alexis had a better idea.

"Everyone shut-up! Since the three of you insist on asking like idiotic adolescents the least you can do is do it somewhere else. I am going upstairs to find a pain killer for the headache which you have caused. By the time I come back downstairs I want all three of you gone." With that Alexis fled upstairs. Kristina reentered the room, having heard everything.

"Well goodnight gentlemen," she said walking over to the door and opening it. A man stood in the doorway, his hand raised as though he had been about to knock when the door was opened.

"Can I help you?" Kristina asked the stranger. He was tall and dark, very handsome with an almost regal appearance.

"Is this the home of Alexis Davis?" He asked seeming confused by the crowd of angry men watching him with suspicion.

"Yes, it is."

"Is Alexis in?"

"Um, yeah come on in."

"You must be Kristina, it's nice to finally meet you." Kristina absently shook the man's hand wondering just how he knew who she was. He looked up at the three men watching him and almost couldn't stop himself from laughing. They looked extremely territorial, as though Alexis were somehow theirs, she must love that he thought sarcastically. Yes there they were the three men in Alexis' life. The ex-fiancé, the ex-husband, in name only, and the... the... Sonny. Alexis' client, her friend, her... no she had not labeled him or her relationship with him. She had said it was unique, indefinable. No wonder he drove her crazy the man though. Alexis loved to have everything clearly defined; she was a lawyer after all. No, Sonny Corinthos did not fit into a neat little compartment, that's what made him so dangerous.

"Alexis?" Kristina called uncertainly from the bottom of the stairs.

"What?" Came the angry reply. Before Kristina could answer Alexis the man called to her.

"It's Prince Charming, I've come to take you to the ball." Several seconds later Alexis appeared at the top of the stairs. The man saw her and his heart sped up just a little as it always did at the sight of her. "Princess, I've missed you." Alexis all but ran into the waiting arm of the handsome stranger allowing him to hold her while those around looked on with confusion, anger and jealousy.
