"Nope, you heard right Alexis." Sonny said grinning at her. "Now come sit down the plane's about to take off."
"Sonny I am not going to sit down, I demand you let me off this plane."
"Fine, if that's the way you want it." Sonny said standing up. Finally he was listening to reason, Alexis thought. However the next thing she knew Sonny was standing in front of her, entirely too close for comfort. Alexis took a couple steps back and felt the back of her knees hit the chair. Sonny took a step towards her and then another until they were toe to toe. He stood there gazing deep into her eyes for what seemed like forever and then he spoke in a husky whisper.
"Sit down, please". As though she had no control over them, her legs went weak and she fell onto the chair. Leaning forward Sonny kissed her forehead "good girl" he whispered laughingly. Alexis would have jumped back out of the seat and stormed off the plane but he was already sitting next to her with his arm around her shoulder to hold her gently but firmly in place.
Jillian who had been watching the exchange with great interest was beginning to get all sorts of ideas about what life could be like. Her Mom needed Sonny. He helped her relax, he made her laugh and most importantly he made her feel safe. That was why Jillian had called Sonny in the first place, now she knew she had done the right thing.
"Jax you can't just fly to England." Kristina shouted trying to catch up with his quickened strides.
"Watch me," Jax replied as he walked out towards the jet. He would have taken his small plane but he knew how much Alexis hated flying in it. He didn't want to give her any reason to say no when he showed up to bring her and Jillian home.
"Well you're not going alone." Kristina stated as she followed him into the jet.
"Are you going to tell me where we're going?" Alexis asked after they had been in the air for a few minutes.
"Now what would be the fun in that?" Sonny asked with dimples at maximum strength.
"Sonny I'm serious."
"Far too serious, if you ask me."
"No-one did." She reminded him haughtily.
"Look, you wanted to leave Port Charles and now you are, the only difference is that my plane is much more comfortable than a commercial flight."
"The difference is that I was getting on the commercial flight by choice, this is..."
"Kidnapping?" He suggested.
"Would you stop referring to this as a kidnapping you're going to frighten Jillian."
"Oh yeah she looks terrified." Sonny laughed glancing at Jillian who was looking almost as pleased as he was. Realizing that she would never win she turned to Jillian.
"And I suppose you know where we're going?"
"Nope, Sonny said it was a surprise, I trust him." Her tone clearly implied that Alexis should do likewise.
"Hey Jillian want to see the cockpit?" Sonny asked.
"I'd love to," came the eager reply and a minute later she was headed up towards the front of the plane.
As soon as they were alone Alexis began to continue her tirade but before she had managed three words Sonny leaned over and kissed her. Alexis resisted his obvious attempt at distraction for at least five seconds before giving in to what she wanted. She could feel Sonny smile against her lips as she began to kiss him back. Suddenly Sonny went tense and leaned back a little. Alexis gave him a questioning look, which he responded to by glancing behind her.
"Hi, don't mind me." Jillian said smiling at the two who were both turning a shade of red. "Would you like me to go back to the cockpit?" She asked giggling at their obvious embarrassment.
"No!" Alexis spoke before Sonny could. "Stay, please."
The three of them sat in silence for a few minutes until Jillian began to giggle slightly.
"And just what is so funny?" Alexis asked.
"Well, the last time we went out you were the chaperone for Sonny and me," Jillian explained, "and now it looks like I'm chaperoning the two of you."
