"Geeze I have not heard your voice in forever," she signed flopping down on her sofa.
"I know I've been so busy. Promo stuff and all." She beamed. Finally her dream was coming true.
"Pretty well actually," Candice laughed. "I love your song. Geeze it's amazing. I love the album!"
"Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm so excited I'm doing this whole MTV thing now. That's really neat, Carson is awesome."
"I love Prince Charming."
"Thanks. I am so glad you loved it. And speaking of charming how is Nickolas anyway?"
"He is good, I suppose. Dating again." Amanda could feel Candice's frown through the phone.
"And how about you?"
"Mandy." Candice had to fight back tears. Not talking to Nick hurt so much, even if they didn't have a relationship she wanted to be his friend. She missed him entirely too much these days. "No, I am not dating yet. I just can't yet. How about the amazing Willa Ford?" Amanda raised her eyebrows at her friend's lame attempt to change the subject.
"Pick that one up from Nick eh?" She grinned a little. "You can't or won't?" Silenced followed Amanda's last comment. This conversation had grown to be truly uncomfortable. "Ok look Candice I am sorry. I know Nick is like your best friend and he was mine too. And trust me it was hard to watch him date again after we broke up." Candice suddenly felt bad for what she had and how she acted toward Mandy after Nick and her had broken up. "Just don't be a bitch to her. I was a bitch to you and I am sorry. You have to learn to live without the mighty Nickolas. I did. It's hard I know. Relationships with Nick are very complex. He is just too, um what is the word. Ya know he's just too Nickish." Candice smiled. Willa may have been a bitch but she had become one of her best friends. "You are scared. I know the feeling. I was so scared to break away and go on with my career knowing the BSB backlash, but I got over it and sucked it up. It's hard having the most anti-sites on the Internet ya know." Amanda laughed.
"I don't know Manda, I mean I called Nick once and this girl sounds like a major bitch." Amanda laughed. She had said the exact same thing about Candice.
"Don't worry. Find a new man, someone who returns your love. And call me a lot! I've gotta run though! I gotta do some album promo stuff it drops in two weeks!! Cya girly! Bye Candi."
"Bye Mandy."
"I loved the concert Nick!" Candice smiled wrapping her arms around her friend.
"Thanks, man I am so sorry but we've gotta run! We have to be in Kansas. Bye Candice." Nick smiled kissing her cheek as he hopped into an awaiting limo.
"Good-bye Nickolas," She whispered as she watched the limo grow further and further away.
"Excuse me?" A voice asked nicely. Candice shook her head and blinked her eyes. She was no longer in St. Louis but back in her home in Florida.
"Hi. You must be my new neighbor, my name is Nick." Candice looked up at the handsome young man.
"Nick?" she choked out still shaking her head. He reached for her arm as she almost toppled over.
"Are you ok miss?"
"Candice. You can call me Candice, and yes I am fine. Thanks."
"Well, hello Candice and welcome to the neighborhood. Would you like to come over for a drink." He asked with hope shining in his eyes.
"Of course nick, I would love too." She smiled and for just one-second she thought she saw love shining in her neighbors eyes.
She couldn't believe it. Was it some crazy daydream? She shrugged. "I've got faith," she whispered walking behind him.
"Excuse me?"
"Oh nothin' Nick, now where are those drinks?" He grinned and grabbed her hand as they entered his home.
