Chapter 36

"It feels so good to be home," Nick sighed dropping his bags in the foyer and walking into the main room.
"Naw I don't like it," Candice said dropping her bags on top of his.
"You don't like what?"
"I don't like your house," Candice sighed plopping down on the nearest sofa. "You know how huge your feet get when you're pregnant," Nick looked at her and laughed. She looked down at her feet and chuckled.
"I'd be a freakin' clown," Nick snickered.
"Yeah, you would, but of course you would never get pregnant, cuz it's just wrong."
Nick laughed, "alright, anyway! I'm gonna go check my messages, be right back." Nick jumped over the couch and flew up the stairs.

Candice turned on the TV and stopped on MTV. "The Real is on way too much," she mumbled watching a rerun of New Orleans. Nick returned downstairs ten minutes later and he didn't look happy.
"What's up?"
"Two from Mom, Nicky where are you..Aaron this blah, Leslie blah. We miss you blah," Nick said in his mother's voice. "One from Brian and one from Mandy."
"Don't have any friends do ya," Candice teased. Nick sill didn't crack a smile.
"Wanna go out clubbin' tonight?"
"Huh? What? Nick where are you?" Candice called standing up and looking around the room. Nick who was sitting right next to her sit had a pissed look of his face. "Where's Nick and what have you done to him?"
"Do you want to go or not," Nick seethed.
"I don't think so, I mean public, camera's..fans!"
"And," Nick stood up. "Do I give a fuck? No!"
"Dude, Nick what's up?" She ran after him up the stairs and into his room. "You know when you're tryin' to hide from someone, you should at least shut your door," Candice said as her eyes adjusted to the dark room. "Nick?" The room was totally destroyed. She wondered how anyone could live in that pigsty. "Nick," she called again, but he was no where in sight. She checked his bathroom, nothing. She searched his closet, nope. She slowly walked over to his bed and saw a little bit of blonde hair sticking out from under the covers. "Well, I guess he's not here," Candice sighed walking away. Nick jumped up from underneath the covers and grabbed her by the waist.

"Ah!" She said flatly mocking a scream.
"You're no fun," Nick pouted.
"Well, Nicky. Next time try and hide your hair under the covers with the rest of your body," Candice said patting his back lightly.
"Oh! You're just too smart for me," Nick sighed.
"I'm so bored."
"What about that club?"
"I was just playin'..is my acting good or what?"
"No, cuz I don't wanna feed your already way too large ego anymore." Candice grinned sitting on the edge of his bed. "Shouldn't you call your mom, Brian and Mandy back anyway?"
"Um....no," Nick looked at her like she was crazy. "Rok was just checkin' in, wedding is soon. I don't wanna talk to my mom."

"I wouldn't want to either," Candice thought aloud. "Opps."
"And why is that?"
"She," Candice sent him a cheeky smile the looked down. "She kinda scares me, I mean she was ok when I first met her, but she's kinda. I dunno. Then after reading Aaron and your books, she's just."
"I didn't like the books either." Nick grinned sitting down next to her. She looked up and sat face to face with Nick. She couldn't help but stare into his eyes, he placed his hands on her face and pulled it closer to his. She knew it was coming, she knew she shouldn't, but she couldn't stop it. Their lips met. Without thinking Candice deepened the kiss, Nick didn't argue. The laid down on the bed still kissing unaware of the figure standing in the doorway watching their every move.
