Ch.11

"I just couldn't eat," a young girl cried. Candice sat there bored out of her mind, she had been to group meetings before, and it was the same thing over and over. She yawned trying to ignore the sobs coming from the teenage girl. Maybe I should comfort her, Candice thought yawning again, Naw that'll only keep me here longer.
"Miss Thompson phone for you," a nurse called.
"Ok," Candice sighed, standing up. "Hello?"
"Hey Girl."
"Hey Nick, thanks for saving me."
"You're welcome. So how's your group thing going?"
"It's fun, whatcha doin?"
"Um getting ready to fly back home, thank god."
"That's great whelp I've gotta go, time is money..or maybe not. I'll talk to you later."
"Bye," Nick chuckled.
"Hey girl!"
"Tell Aj I said hi," Candice laughed.
"I will," Nick smiled hanging up.
"I love you," she whispered into the dial tone.
"I love you," Nick whispered into the dial tone hating the fact. I hate to love her, he thought sourly. "I hate planes," he mumbled. "This sucks!" I mean how could I hate to love someone, is that even possible? Of course it is, anything is possible, he thought drifting off to sleep.

"This is his room," Emma grinned gazing at Nick's room. "This is his bed and that is his TV." She sat on his bed and laid down, she heard a door opening and ran out the back door quickly.

"Hello?"
"Young lady, how could you? Why? You are coming home NOW! I got you the best doctor in Missouri," a voice screeched.
"Mom?"
"Your plane leaves at six, be there or I'm coming to get you!"
"But," Candice protested.
"Bye," her mother hung up.

"Man," she muttered sitting next to the lake. I'm so messed up! Why do you like him so much, could you call it love? No, you can't, don't. You can't love him not now, not ever. Her mind raced, tears began to weld up in her eyes.
"Hey," a familiar voice whispered; a figure sat next to her.
"Hey," she whispered, her mind still racing. I do love you, I'm so messed up and I'm leaving in 3 hours but I love you!
"So..How was your day?" Nick broke the silence.
"Umm," she turned to face him, "ok, I guess." She starred hard at his face, trying so hard to hold back her tears.
"Candice?" He put his hand on her cheek and gazed into her eyes and leaned in for a kiss; she deepened the kiss, hoping it would never end.
He pulled away, "I love you," he whispered breathlessly.
"Oh god," she let the tears fall.
"What's wrong?"
"I love you, too," she sobbed into his chest.
"And that's bad?!" He held her pale face in his hands.
"It's horrible."
"Why?"
"I-I'm going back home," she whispered wiping her eyes. "My Mom found out bout this and she is sending me to another psycho clinic," she held back more tears. Finding something you want and having it ripped away in the same day was tearing her up inside.
"So, we can make this work, you'll get better and be back here in no time."
"Nickels I'm so scared," she gazed back out at the lake.
"Don't be I'll be here for you," he tried to sound strong but he didn't even believe his own words, in the back of his head he knew this would never work out and he would lose her forever.
"I trust you Nick, but I have a horrible feeling about something."
"Don't worry," Nick stood up and reached for her hand. "Lets get you packed up."
"Ok," she grabbed his hand and he pulled her up.
"Man you are light," Nick declared.
"Bye," she mumbled running toward her house.
"What," Nick screamed trying to run after her but he couldn't move his legs. "What the?" Nick looked back and he stood face to face with Mandy.

"Hey Nicky," she grinned.
"Mandah?"
"Where are you going in such a rush," she asked moving closer to him.
"Leave me alone Amanda, I don't want to talk to you," he turned to walk away.
"No, no Nick don't leave me," she pleaded falling to the ground.
"Mandy I'll talk to you later." "
Nooo," she screeched as Nick walked to Candice's house not looking back once.

"You can't leave, not now," Nick gasped for air.
"Nick actually," she sat next to him on her bed. "Actually I think this is for the best, really I do, whenever you guys come to Missouri you'll just have to kidnap me," she laughed.
"Fine but I'm gonna call you a lot," he smiled. "And you have to write."
"That's gonna be fun, seeing how you are going to be on a moving bus the whole time!"
"Oh yeah, there is always email."
"You mean you can use a computer," Candice teased.
"Shut up Blondie."

"I'm ready," she sighed grabbing her last bag.
"Off to your chariot my princess," Nick held out his arm.
"My prince," she laughed wrapping her arm around his.

"I'm gonna miss you so much," she dropped her bags and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I miss you already," he ran his hand along her cheek wiping away a single tear. "Please don't cry, you'll make me start."
"I'll try."
"So you have my email and my cell number right?" Nick asked for the millionth time.
"Yes, I do Nick, gosh, I'm older than you and you always seem to make me feel like a two year old," she teased.
"Oh well," he kissed her lips lightly.
"Last call for flight 678, Tampa to St. Louis."
"That's me," she picked up her bag and started walked toward her flight gate, never taking her eyes of Nick. He sat down to watch the plane take off not taking his eyes off her.

"Hello?"
"Hey Nicky," a familiar voice whispered, Nick gasped and dropped the phone.

"Seat 12A," Candice mumbled to herself. Good thing I got an almost empty plane, she thought frowning. She plopped down in her seat not even noticing the person sitting next to her; she pulled out her CD. DMX, she thought smiling. Nick had gotten the CD for her as a going away gift. She glanced out the window and finally noticed the figure sitting next to her and screamed.

Nick scrabbled down to the floor and grabbed the phone, "hello?"
"Chose or lose," was all the person said before hanging up.

"Whoa don't scream."
"Wha-what are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to check on you," he whispered sincerely.
"God is everyone watching over me," she moaned.
"I just care, that's all," he hugged her; hiding his phone in his pocket.
"So Aj, how long are you gonna stay in Louieville?" Candice asked pulling out her headphones.
"I dunno maybe two days, just til you get settled."
"Oh thanks, I mean I'm 19 not 3!"
"Yeah, but I'm still your friend," Aj grinned.
"Yeah," she hit Aj's chest.
"That hurt," he hit her arm.
"You broke it," she teased putting on her headphones. "Time to go to my world, see ya when we land J."
"Yeah," Aj whispered, laying his head back and falling asleep.

"Yeah Mom, in a day, ok bye. No, we broke up, yes again. Love ya Mom buh bye." Nick hung up the phone and it started to ring again.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Nicky have you picked one yet?"
"Who is this?" Nick demanded; they just hung up. "Some screwed up people have my number," Nick mumbled as he finished packing.

"Wake up," Candice whispered as she shook Aj.
"Huh?" He mumbled half asleep.
"We're landing," she informed him.
"Oh," Aj stared out the window.

"There's our ride," Candice declared pointing at the white limo.
"Ridin' in style huh?! Guess they knew I was comin'," Aj laughed grabbing his bags.
"Max," Candice screamed hugging a short, bald man in a tux.
"Miss Thompson," he tipped his hat.
"This is AJ Mclean," Candice smiled as Max put her bags in the back.
"Hey," Aj smiled.
"Mr. Mclean," Max tipped his hat and opened the side door for them.
"I hate flying," Nick groaned boarding the plane. He searched through the seats and finally found his, he sat next to the window and prayed the seat next to him was empty.
"This day cannot get any worse," Nick muttered, then he heard a shriek all to familiar. "Yes, it can," he pulled his baseball cap down more and covered his face with his hands.
"Um..Nick," a low, soft, voice whispered from the isle.

"This is so cool," Aj exclaimed walking around the edge of the pool.
"Aj, dude, it's just a pool," Candice put on her sunglasses and sat in the nearest lawn chair.
"Come on girl cheer up!" Aj sat next to her and grinned evilly.
"Aj no, don't Aj!" Candice screamed starting to get up as Aj picked her up and threw her in the pool. She tried to reach the bottom but it was too deep so she swam up to the top gasping for air. "Thanks I love you too," she said climbing out of the pool, but Aj was no where to be seen. "Aj?" She glanced around the large yard; no one was there. "Aj?" she yelled walking out into the yard. A rabbit jumped out from behind the pool house and that was the last thing she saw.

"Um Nick," the voice repeated a little louder this time.
"Yeah sorry," he turned around to be face to face with a young girl with thin, straight blonde hair, about down to her shoulders.
"Could you please sign this? I love you guys so much," she gushed.
"Sure," Nick smiled, "what's your name?" The little girls deep blue eyes flashed. "My name is Candice," she whispered grinning.
"Ok Candice, what do you want me to sign?" Nick spat the words out like they had been rehearsed and they had over a million times, they lost all meaning.
