"Cari, baby, don't ever let a man do the things your father has done to me. Don't ever get yourself hurt by men. They will only hurt you, crush your spirit and take
away the beauty that is rightfully yours..."
"Don't worry mama, I will hate them until I die. I don't wan't to get hurt like you. I promise mama, I won't...," Cari would reply sleepily.
Yelling and screaming, vases and plates broken, the little angel sat huddle in the corner willing for the chaos to stop.
Barely six years old, the little angel bore the suffering of her battered mother. Every night when her father would pass out from the liquor that he had consumed,
her mother would hug her and cry. Feeling her hurt, they each bore the hatred for the man that she called father and her mother, husband. Each night her
mother would tell her,
5 years later...
Coming home from school, Cari walked slowly dreading to go inside. The house stood majestically by the hill, a mansion to be exact. But no one knew what horrors lay inside the house,
what Jerry Sanders did to his wife. Not one servant in their house dared to interfere thus to ignite Jerry's anger.
Opening the door to the huge house, Cari heard the all too familiar screams of pain of her mom and her father's yelling of obscenities upstairs. She crept quietly to her room but saw her mother bloody and bruised body. She gasped.
"Mama!" she ran to her mother side.
"You get away from her you little bitch if still care to live!" her father yelled. He got up and threw the empty bottle of liquor to her mother's head.
"Jerry, noooo!" Cheryl said before blood gushed from her head. Silence. Jerry's eyes got wild, Cari was trying to wake her mother to no avail.
"Mama, wake up! Mama!" Turning to Jerry, "What have you done to her?" Still trying to shake her mother awake, a liquor bottle crashed on top of Cari's head, rendering her unconcious.
Cari's head pounded heavily. Blinking once, twice...
"Mama...," Cari said almost inaudibly.
"She's awake!," Mrs. Baker, the Sanders' housekeeper said running towards the door. "She's awake! Nurse!"
Two nurses came rushing in the hospital room. "Well, well, well, good morning Ms.Sanders. How are you feeling?" one of the nurses asked.
"My head hurts...Mrs. Baker, where's my mama?," she came a bit more awake. "Where is she?" she said urgently.
"Darling, lay down, your going to stress yourself up." Mrs. Baker said soothingly.
"Where is she? Is she okay? I need to see her!" she said panicky.
Mrs. Baker looked around for help. "Honey, she's gone..."
"Where is she? Where did she go?" looking around her.
Mrs. Baker sighed, her eyes watering. "She's now in heaven with the angels. She now looking out for you."
"Nooo! Mama!" tears suddenly flowed. "Mama!" Mrs. Baker hugged her.
"Now, Cari, Cari, you musn't stress yourself..."the nurse said. Cari suddenly became slack in Mrs. Baker's arms.
