Sam brushed Todd's hand off Elizabeth's back. It was way to low anyway. "Listen, Todd. I think you should go back to your side of the room and stick with your team."
Todd turned on him. "All right, you little runt. I-"
Elizabeth pushed her way between them. "No fighting! Todd, just go over there and let me talk to him."
"Call me if you need me," Todd said, staring Sam down.
Sam stood his ground as Todd turned to go. It felt good watching Todd retreat - even knowing that Elizabeth had sent him away.
"Sam, you can't tell me who to dance with!" she hissed.
"I'm not telling you who to dance with, I'm telling you who not to dance with. Don't dance with anybody not on our team," Sam said casually, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"That's ridiculous!" Elizabeth exclaimed, throwing her hands up. "Besides, no one from our team has asked me to dance. What do you want me to do, sit in the corner by myself all night? I want to dance."
Sam's heart skipped a beat. "Then dance with me."
