Jessica Wakefield is rocking everyone's world at the Florida Specialized Security Acadamy. The only person she can't impress is her drill sergeant, Vaness T. Pruitt. Jessica is tired of scrubbing toilets and getting stuck on night watch. Can she cook up a plan wicked enough to give Sergeant Pruitt a taste of her own cruelty?
Elizabeth Wakefield's off-Broadway dreams are turning into nightmares faster than she can say "Bravo!" Her coproducers are pretentious snobs. Her lead actress couldn't act her way out of a shopping bag. And Tom Watts's failure to get a job - any job - is driving her crazy!
Is Elizabeth's final curtain call coming sooner than expected?
It's time for a knockout!
"Something wrong?" Bev asked.
"Oh, no worse than the usual," Jessica said sarcastically. "I was just thinking that my beauty routine will be alot easier tomorrow night. After all, I won't have to brush my teeth anymore after they've been knocked out."
"Forget about it, Jessica." Sunshine stepped out of the showers and wrapped herself in a towel. "Believe me, you don't need to worry about your smile."
Somehow that doesn't sound so reassuring, Jessica thought.
"That's right. Everything's taken care of." Annette gave Sunshine and Bev a decisive nod, and Bev winked back.
What's going on? Jessica wondered. One minute they seem like they're on my side, the next . . . watch out! Am I just being paranoid, or am I being smart?
Jessica studied the faces of her friends as they prepared for bed. They all had one thing in common: Underneath their placid expressions, something menacing lurked in their eyes.
I'm not being paranoid! Jessica assured herself with a frown. I'm not! They definately have it in for somebody - the question is, do they have it in for Pruitt . . . or me?
Can Elizabeth convince Jessica and Vince to join her play? Or will they be too busy partying to care? Escape to New York
