Jessica whirled away from the window to face Elizabeth, her blue-green eyes flashing. "Please!" she snarled. "Can we just put a lid on it? Forst you sneak off to make the most important decision of your life, and then you have the nerve to involve me now when it's too late!"
"Jessica!" Elizabeth gasped. "Just a minute-"
"No," Jessica interjected angrily. "You wait! If you want to go and case out your new joint, be my guest! But remember, just because you have a new life to go to doesn't mean mine has to stop!"
"I never said-"
"I've heard enough, Elizabeth," Jessica continued, unable to rein herself in. She was on a roll now. "If you want to leave SVU, don't let me stop you stop you, but I don't have time to talk about it. I've got other things to do. Like right now!"
"What do you mean?" Elizabeth exclaimed. "I thought we were going to have lunch together." She gestured at the food lamely.
"Well, I guess that's another thing you assumed wrong!" Tossing her hair, Jessica flounced toward the door, shotting a clod glare back at Elizabeth. "You can eat alone. I'm off to find a new roommate!"
