Conclusion

The era from 1945 to 2006 saw the world change in many ways. It started as the World War II came to an end and 61 years later the United States was engaged in another war. This time there was not a uniformed enemy but rather an enemy that attacked civilians going about their everyday lives. From the relatively calm 1950’s, turbulent 1960’s, self obsessed 1970’s, political changing 1980’s, globalization in the 1990’s, to the new millennium, the 2000’s brought terror into our everyday lives, a fact of life.

We have become a truly global society with endless possibilities, if we can learn to live in peace. Hope springs eternal.
