Well, this is my weekend off & I SHOULD be at my Mom's house, but I opted to stay home & relax while my husband spent the weekend up in WV. Figured I'd scrub the tub, run it full of hot water full of lavender oil, and stay there until my skin pruned over while listnening to Michael Bolten tapes with candles lining the edge of the tub. THIS is more relaxing than ANY synthetic tranqualizer! Figured it would get my adrenaline pumping so I could get my spring cleaning done this weekend. BUT....It is now midnight, hubby is back in bed -again- and I ended up taking my usual quick shower today. I called in the pizza, he went & picked it up with a couple of movies, and I accomplished very little today. That's not unlike most of my days off lately. I am, unfortunately, getting to the "don't care anymore" stage. There was a tape put out by John Cougar back in the early 80's titled "Nothing Matters & What if it Did". I liked the tape but didn't make since of the title. I do now. Maybe this is the point I have been needing to reach for a long time. Maybe some of my stress will disappear if I take on the common attitude of "don't care for anything but me". NAH! It's not in me.

Where to start? I left work about 30 minutes early last night because I simply couldn't stand on my aching feet with this aching back & neck any longer. I was nearly in tears! It is now 7:30AM & I still haven't slept, but I HAVE rested; almost to a painfree state which will allow sleep. Thank God this is my day off work. I am starting to believe I must have REALLY bad arthritis. I can't find a REAL doctor to check me out well enough to find the problem.

I left this page a little shy, so I'm adding one of my poems. Hope you like it.

SEASONS OF LIFE

There's a freshness in the air
with each God given spring;
Like that of a newborn babe;
the new life that they both bring.

The flowers bloom in splendor;
such beauty all around!
Trees blossom to welcome summer.
There's new grass on the ground.

Summer's finally made it,
with it's glorious rays of sun.
Toddlers frolic all about
with nothing in store except fun.

The birds sing summer's praises
with the lyrics, Winter's out of reach.
Lovers walk hand in hand
as teens gather on the beach.

All too soon, autumn's in the air
as the trees shed their multi-colored leaves;
as though spring and summer had been stolen
by a band of cruel, heartless thieves.

This warns of winter's arrival
with it's snow and bitter cold.
Chilling winds whip right through you.
We all now need someone to hold.

But the winter with it's snow,
like the old man with his beard,
can be quite peaceful and tranquil.
It doesn't have to be the end we've feared.

So let us all take winter
as a time for peace and rest.
For soon, there shall approach us
the sight of the first robin redbreast.
