Ollie picks up the washing machine, and begins to come up the steps. He stumbles and drops it. Anita sits down and Stan says

- I wouldn't be surprised if he stopped to demonstrate -

Ollie picks up the machine and goes a few more steps before setting it down again to rest. It rolls down the steps, and Ollie chases after it. Anita says to Stan

- He's sure gettin' a lot o' mileage outta that machine -

Ollie picks it up again, and begins to climb the steps again. Eventually he gets to the top, and Stan and Anita stand. Ollie puts the machine down. He begins talking as if he is making a sale. Stan shakes his head. Ollie stops and looks at him. Stan explains

- She forgot the stamp, and you've got the letter. -

Anita passes the stamp to Ollie. Ollie looks down the steps, which he has just climbed. He punches Stan in the nose. Stan's hat falls off and he starts crying, and then Anita hits Ollie on the nose. Anita takes her letter from him and says

- You're the kind of man that always thinks of himself first -

Anita leaves, and Ollie begins to cry. They pick up the washing machine, and Stan says

- I'm growing fond of this thing. -

They carry it back down the steps.
