Anita reappears at the top of the steps, with a stamp in her hand. She shouts to Stan and Ollie. The Boys hear her and look up the steps. Anita motions for them to come back. They put down the washing machine and Ollie says
- Maybe the Chinaman sprained his back. You go up an' see -
Stan looks up the steps and starts crying. He begins to climb. He climbs very slowly. Ollie leans on the machine at the bottom, and it rolls out from underneath him. He falls, gets back up and jerks the machine back again. He leans on it again, and it rolls away again, leaving him sprawling in the road. He is mad, as he gets back up. He pulls it to him, and begins kicking it.
By this point, Stan is on his hands and knees, slowly going up the steps. He sits down, and Ollie motions him to carry on. He picks up a rock and throws it at him. Stan gets up and continues his ascent. As he reaches the top, he adjusts his bow tie. He approaches Anita, who says
- I forgot to put a stamp on my letter -
Stan turns and yells down the steps to Ollie, still leaning on the washing machine. Stan motions for him to come up. Ollie claps his hands with glee
- Great Kid! He's made a sale! -
