Mothers are the only people I know who can say one thing, proclaim it law, then turn around and do the exact anti-thesis, and *never* get prosecuted for it. I don't know, it's just funny in an annoying way.
My mom coaxed me out of my little hole in the wall (i.e, my room)last night for a midnight snack of Spam pizza. All that after proclaiming me and herself on an all-natural food diet. (okay, I guess I didn't mind that one contradiction, since I like junk an awful lot)
Quite droll, innit?
Anyway, we were halfway through the pizza when the phone started ringing. Upon this unexpected turn of events, my mom told me to hold off all conversations over the phone until the pizza was finished. So I told my girlfriend I'd call her back. As I got out of my room my mom complained that "we never got any time to spend with each other, mother-daughter bonding," and all that. After saying her bit, she picks up her last slice of Spam pizza and retreats to her room to watch her sitcoms.

I just grinned. I grinned so wide that the corners of my mouth started cracking with the tension. Summoning the Great Angel of Patience's guidance (or whoever's in charge of keeping mere mortals sane), I just calmly picked up the plates, washed them, and took out all my pent-up frustration on the poor Poporings in La-la-land.
That, folks, is a perfect illustration to defend my first argument.
