Moira MacTaggert stored a small hovercraft on Muir Island. Brian Braddock (Britanic), having just returned from the timestream and feeling out of place and time, took on the project of enhancing the hovercraft, unbeknownst to Moira, who was none too happy to see the changes. He acquired Shi’ar technology from Westchester making the craft much faster. It could fly up to Mach 2 before the Shi’ar technology boosted it to immeasurable speeds. Equipped with a Ridercam deployed out of the bottom Runner so the crew could see things far away without approaching them with the hovercraft. The Midnight Runner also had cloaking fields that would hide it from most radar.

The hovercraft was damaged in several battles including the flight over Genosha and a fight with Black Air but always pulled through. It managed to stay with the dwindling team until the year 2013, during the Days of Future Tense.

When Brian “tinkered” with Moira’s hovercraft he promised to build her a state of the art medical vessel – the Moonlight Flit. This hypersonic medical vessel was entirely voice activated and equipped for the worst human crisis.

On it’s maiden voyage the Flit was forced to take on numerous Black Air helicopters. Because this craft was used primarily for medical care it had no weapons to fight back. Its wings were destroyed and the crew was forced to abandon it. Time and time again Brian’s inventions were being immobilized.

Able to fly through the air at incredible speeds the Supersonic Hovercar resembled an alien spacecraft. Another invention of Brian’s, it was a prototype pushed to its limits. In flight this vehicle could transform itself into a shiny red sports car. Clocked a 280 miles per hour the top speed could reach over 320.

This vehicle was only seen in one issue as Brian and Meggan went to purchase a wedding ring.
