July 4, 1999

A group of us went camping on the July 4th weekend in 1999.  We started out up some 4x4 road just west of Denver.  The next day we drove up near a couple of 14'ers south of Breckenridge.  We climbed Mount Lincoln and Mount Bross on the 4th of July.  Here are some pictures of the first nights campsite.

I know, not the clearest picture.  I'll rescan it as soon as I find it.  Here is Daisy (lower left), me, Audra (peeking out just above me) and good old Nate.  You can see Audra's jeep behind her.  On the drive up, Micah and I were standing on the running boards of the Jeep acting like we were Secret Service Agents and Daisy (yes the dog) was the President.  It's a little game that Mark and I created called "Shooter!"

Here's Della.  She's choppin' some wood!

Della's a teacher.

She brings that axe to class with her.

Her kids are very polite.

Look at that smile on her face!  She's really getting a kick out of choppin' this wood!

Here's Micah again.  Micah likes dogs.  Daisy likes Micah.  Micah once wrote a song CALLED "Dog".  It's not about Daisy, but you wouldn't know it from this picture, eh?

Well, of course it's been TOO long without a picture of me.  Here's Micah and me auditioning for a Budweiser commercial.  I'm really not sure what the deal is with our faces.  It may have to do with the Secret Service thing that we were doing earlier.  Maybe a transition to Green Berets or something.  Not really sure.

And we end with a picture of the Torchbearer.  This is in honor of the Olympics that were coming to Salt Lake City the next year.  Go USA!!
