:: Wrestlemania Predictions

Welcome to the Wrestlemania Predictions at Wrestling Envy. Below you will find the views that Wrestling Envy staff feel with regards to Wrestlemania X-Seven.

Chris Lewis (Webmaster)
Gary Griffiths (Columnist)

Chris Lewis (Webmaster)

I will keep my predictions short and sweet because I don't want them to drag on - plus I'm busy with other parts of the site at the moment anyway. Here I go..

World Wrestling Federation Championship
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock

I truly think that there can be only one outcome for this match. Although it seems too obvious, I still think Austin will win - via pinfall. Shawn Michaels will try to screw Austin, miss with the Sweet Chin Music - and catch the Rock with it instead. Handing Austin the victory and the World Wrestling Federation title.
Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin

Triple H vs. Undertaker

The Undertaker is currently undefeated at Wrestlemania, and the WWF will keep it that way. Mark Callaway is set to retire soon and will win at Wrestlemania and go on for at least one more title shot before he retires. Triple H will have to job, but if he doesn't then it will be a double DQ or something. I'm sticking with a win for Taker.
Winner: The Undertaker

Street Fight: Special referee: Mick Foley
Vince McMahon vs. Shane McMahon

Expect Linda McMahon to pop out of her wheelchair and distract Vince. Booker T will then interfere and take out Vince - landing the new WCW Owner, Shane, the victory.
Winner: Shane McMahon

TLC II
Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian

A tough one to call. I'm just going to go with the Hardy Boyz because they are expected to be pushed a lot in 2001. After they win the titles at Mania I think they will end up splitting in late 2001 and feuding with each other.
Winners: Hardy Boyz

Intercontinental Championship
Chris Jericho vs. William Regal

This is one match I'm not really hyped about. To keep it short, I think Jericho will break out of the Regal Stretch and win with the Walls of Jericho.
Winner: William Regal

Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle

This will be a stunning technical battle with the eventual winner being Chris Benoit. Benoit will win with the crossface - after reversing the Ankle Lock from Angle. This match will solidify Benoit's recent face-turn.
Winner: Chris Benoit

Hardcore Championship
Big Show vs. Kane vs. Raven

Kane is the only competitor that has not held the Hardcore title during the feud in recent weeks. Therefore, I'm just going to say Kane.
Winner: Kane

Women's Championship
Chyna vs. Ivory

Billy Gunn will interfere and screw Chyna out of the match - giving Ivory the unlikely victory. A Chyna win seems too obvious in my view.
Winner: Ivory

European Championship
Test vs. Eddie Guerrero

I think Eddie will win so their feud can reach new levels. If Test retains the title I don't think the WWF can take their rivalry to bigger things.
Winner: Eddie Guerrero

Gimmick battle royal

I have no idea who will win, really. I'll go with Gillberg - for fun. Hulk Hogan would be a good bet - except his return is very unlikely to happen.
Winner: Gillberg (ha ha ha)

Six-man tag
Tazz & APA vs. Right to Censor

Another hard one to call. I still think the Right To Censor will win, because the build up to the match has seen the Acolytes and Tazz get the upper hand - but RTC will come back from behind and win the match-up.
Winners: Right To Censor

Gary Griffiths (Columnist)

Before I start can I please encourage you all to visit my column at the following sites….

All of these are great sites, and at the moment, my WrestleMania column is up, where I take a look at past WrestleMania's, anyway back to my predictions.
Im sure this years WrestleMania will excellent, so here are my thoughts on this great event..

World Wrestling Federation Championship
The Rock V.s Stone Cold Steve Austin

Now this match has the potential to be corker and I’m sure it will deliver, but as for the ending…I’m not sure. But what I am sure of, is that it won’t be a clean finish, neither man will be willing to do the job for free. So that means there’s gonna be a screw job.
Now, if you’d have asked me this on Monday I’d have given you this theory. HBK will come down to the ring, start stomping, and then superkick Austin. Rock will then retain the belt, and the next night on Raw, SCSA will get a return shot. The same will be about to happen again, but this time, Austin will duck and HBK will flawed with SCM, allowing Austin to pick up the title, and Rock to have time of to film his movie. Now that theory isn’t impossible. Because I think there is still a good chance that HBK will show up at WM, despite this weeks “rumoured” trouble, and I do mean “Rumoured”.
But if this doesn’t come to play, then my second theory will happen, which his as follows.
Vince will screw Austin, turning Rocky heel. Rock will side with Vince, and Austin will side with Shane on WCW’s side. There will then be a WCW V WWF fued with Rock and Austin on a side each. The way this fued goes could be vica-versa. In that I mean, that it could be Rokc that’s screwed, and Austin joining up with Vince.
But my final prediction for this match is Rock to take the victory via help from the greatest, Shawn Michaels.
Winner: The Rock

Intercontinental Title Match
William Regal V.s Chris Jericho

I really can only see one winner in this match and that’s Regal. Jericho is in line for a very long awaited main event push, and also is rumoured to have a back problem which will need time to heal. The commish will obviously use some kind of devious tactic to win though.
Winner: William Regal

TLC II – Tag Title Match
E & C V,s Dudley Boyz V.s Hardy Boyz
Now Hardyz won the first ladder match, and E & C have won the following ones, so that leaves only the men from Dudleyville to take the gold. I can see Rhyno, Spike and Maybe Lita/Jerry Lynn being a major factor in this match as well, so it dithers from the these 3 teams previous epics.
Winners: Dudleyz

Eunropean Title Match
Eddy Guerrero V.s Test

I really can only see Test winning this as Eddy is, some would say too big for the European title, and Test needs a big win over strong comepetiotn at a PPV, to really get crowd support. So in my view, Test will retain the title.
Winner: Test

Hardcore Ttitle Match
Raven V.s Kane V.s Big Show
If this match had stayed as Kane V.s Big Show then we’d have a dead cert for Worst Match of the year. But luckily, that ever so brave Raven was added to the mix. Now Big Show and Kane are both argubaly to big for this title, plus it’d be too obvious for either of them to win. So I am opting for Big Show to hit the Chokeslam on Kane, and the Raven to nail show with a Weapon, then as Big Show is down, Raven will cover Big Show for the shock win.
Winner: Raven

Womens Title Match
Chyna V.s Ivory
Chyan will win, no doubt about it. There will not be another faked injury, because the WWF saw how badly that was taken before, so Chyna will dominate most of the match, and pick up an easy win.
Winner: Chyna

Now folks, on to the non title matches………

The Undertaker V.s Triple H
This has the potential to be a brilliant match, and H has already said he wants to steal the show, and he is always out at big events to put on the best performance possible. Couple that with the fact that it may well be Undertakers last WrestleMania, and it’s in home town, he’ll be desperate to put on an amazing display.
But I can see Undertaker taking the win here, due to the two facts I stated above, and that he has an undefeated WrestleMania record.
Winner: The Undertaker

Kurt Angle V.s Chris Benoit

This is probably the match I am most looking forward to on the card, and also my suspected match of the night. Both of these amazing athletes are technically supreme, along with the fact that both will be trying to prove they are once again worthy of main event status. Benoit is going into this match as face, so look for Angle to pick up the win by using a dirty tactic on Benoit, then Benoit getting good face heat as the crowd will feel he’s been cheated out of the win.
Winner: Kurt Angle

RTC V.s APA and Tazz

Yuuuuuuuuk!!!!
This macth will totally suck, and if the WWF has any sense in them they’ll keep this complete crowd killer till near the end of the show.
Look for APA and Tazz to pick up the win, and also the seeds to be sown for an eventual RTC break up.
Winners: APA & Tazz

Vince V.s Shane

Look for this match to be heavily influenced by WCW wrestlers, in favour of Shane, or maybe to screw Shane???
There is also the possibility of Foley turning heel and screwing Shane. There are really so many possibilities for this match up, the out come has everyone guessing, and I wouldn’t count an appreance from HBK out either, although that is unlikely.
Winner: Shane

Gimmick Battle Royal

People have been saying that Hulk Hogan is coming back for this one, but I’d be very surprised, and the same goes for Ultimate Warrior as well. But if it’s true that Gillberg has been added to the mix, I think either him, or Gobbledygooker or Doink will win it.
Winner: Gobbledy Gooker
