LOCOMOTIVES USED FOR ROMANTIKA TRAIN

01-088

Probably the most distinguished steam locomotive is one from 01-class, 01-088 that is still in use with "Romantika" train.

Technical data: Wheel arrangement 1-C-1, length 20,57 m., speed 90 km/h, 20.0 t of water, 8.0 t of coal.

Notice: At Yugoslav railways numbering system, wheel arrangement actually indicates number of axes, not wheels. For example, Pacific type with 4-6-2 wheel arrangement should be designated as 2-C-1.

Locomotive of 01-class was built by German works "Schwarzkopf" and "Maschinenfabrik", specially designed for Serbian railways. There are 8 engines of this class still preserved, and last of them 01-088 was 1996 prepared in "Šinvoz" factory. Now it is used for old-timer "Romantika" train.

33-087

Locomotive of the 33-class is originally DRB-52, built in 1942 by Borsig factory (Berlin). It was developed from DRB-50 type. More than 6000 engines of this type was built during the W.W.II. and 2000 after the war. That is probably the greatest number of same type engines ever built.

Technical data: Wheel arrangement 1-E-4, length 22,97 m., speed 80 km/h, 30.0 t of water, 8.0 t of coal.

51-052

Locomotive of the 51-class was built by Ganz MAVAG (Budapest) in period 1907-1959. This locomotive is also used for the "Romantika" train, as well as 01, and 33 class.
