I cannot join #E-Hub like I used to?
What happened?
Our main channel, #E-Hub, has been set to an INVITE-ONLY channel. To
access #E-Hub for the first time, msg @s in #E-Chat with your registered nick. Please
only msg ONCE and wait PATIENTLY for the response.
So how do I register a nick?
To register a nick, type /MSG NS HELP REGISTER. You'll need an ISP email
account, e.g. Singnet, Starhub, Pacnet, OR a school email account, e.g. secondary
school, polytechnic, university, OR company email account to register a unique nick.
So I've registered my nick and got my access. Anymore?
After access has been given, you only need to type /MSG Q INVITE #E-HUB
to join #E-Hub IN FUTURE. Hence, messaging the ops for access is only
a ONE-TIME task. If you do not have a registered nick yet, then what
are you waiting for? See you soon. =P
How do
I download files from a server?
To download files, following these steps:-
- Type !list in channel.
- Highlight the trigger to paste in channel. An example of a trigger
is "/ctcp Billabong Files".
- Once you make a DCC session, use these commands to queue for
a file: cd, clr_queue, clr_queues, dir,
exit, get, help, ls, queues,
quit, sends, stats, who
cd ------------- change directory.
dir ------------- lists the files in the current directory.
ls -------------- wide directory listing.
get <file> ---- asks the server to DCC Send the specified
file.
say ------------ send chat messages to all other users on the
server.
sends --------- displays server send status
stats ---------- displays current server statistics.
swap ---------- allows queues to be swapped. (can be disabled)
queues -------- displays server queue status.
who ------------ show users on server.
clr_queues ---- Removes all of your queues.
clr_queue N --- Removes the queue in slot N.
exit ------------- terminates the connection.
- In order to ensure that your downloads is automatic and you
need not authorise the download eveytime a file is being reeived,
you can do the following :-
- First, choose 'Options' from the pull-down menu.
- Then, select the Category 'DCC'.
- You can then see two sections, 'On Send request' and 'On
Chat request'
- Set 'On Send request' to auto get file and at 'If file exists',
set to resume.
- Go on to next sub-category 'Options'.
- Uncheck the editbox at the bottom 'Show DCC Send warning'.
- Last but not least, go to next sub-category 'Folders'.
- At 'DCC Ignore' section, choose 'Disabled' and uncheck the
editbox 'Turn ignore back on in:'
- You're set to receive your files without having to always
click to authorise a download. However, in this way, you are
vulnerable to virus files too. Be sure to install a anti-virus
program.
I have
downloaded a movie but there is no picture. What should I do?

which usually solves the problem.
