LIVEWYRE
Suave
and sweet offstage, onstage they will make you swing to
the music. Livewyre is considered one of the best party
bands in the local music scene. Young and dynamic, Livewyre
keeps the party alive with their signature harmonies and
magnetic onstage performance. Honed through constant practice
and camaraderie, Livewyre’s sound has become refined
and crisp, an intoxicating tempo to groove to.
Livewyre
is on the very short list of successful local all-male party
bands, which is contrast to most show or party bands that
include a female vocalist, even three, at most. And they’re
not brazen amateurs: Frontman Mike Catubay has been singing
since he was ten, as a member of Bazoorah (Arabic for “Kids.”),
a local singing group. He sings in the college choir and
has joined numerous singing competitions. Saxman Jay Bonocan
has been playing the saxophone for twelve years now.
He’s
been in love with the saxophone’s rapturous melodies
since he could remember, and even finished a degree in Music
from Siliman. Aljun, together with Jay, is a former member
of Stages, while Ryann, Mike, Donald and Richie used to
be part of another band called The Trend.
Together,
they perform the best of the 80s, retro and R&B music
with covers from their favorite artists like Side-A, Toto,
Chicago, South Border, Spyro Gyro, Dire Straits, Sting and
The Ripping Tones with an irresistible groove and sound
that will keep you dancing into the night.
