As Tea approaches the cave, she expects to hear the sounds of Todd throwing a tempter tantrum inside. She's surprised to hear silence instead.]
Tea: Todd, are you in there?
Todd: What the fuck do you want?
[Tea climbs through the opening into the cave.]
Tea: I was hoping we could have a calm discussion. Clearly, that isn't an option.
Todd: I'm totally calm.
Tea: Are you?
Todd: Am I yelling at you for being such a bitch? Am I throwing things?
Tea: Let's get one thing straight, I have every right to be a bitch right now, because of the way you treated me.
Todd: What about the way you treated me?
Tea: I loved you, Todd...past tense.
Todd: Yeah, you made that clear. Was I that lousy in the sand, you had to toss me aside to try out that loser?
Tea: Todd...
Todd: Forget it! I don't want to know about you and Rayburn. You should get out of here before I start smashing things.
Tea: Would it be okay with you if Del and I stayed the night?
Todd: Why are you doing this to me?
Tea: I thought my staying was what you had in mind when you invited me, in your own unique way, on this adventure.
Todd: I never wanted you to bring one of your brothers, especially the cop one.
Tea: If I had brought a different brother you would have welcomed him with open arms?
Todd: Since when have I ever welcomed anyone with open arms?
Tea: You certainly never welcomed me that way.
Todd: I did...earlier.
Tea: You were condescending.
Todd: I don't even know what that means.
Tea: You were acting like an ass.
Todd: Only because you were acting like a lawyer. I hate lawyers.
Tea: I never thought you hated this lawyer...until you left me here, the way you did.
Todd: I wanted you to come with me.
Tea: Why? So I could be your mistress in Llanview, like I was here?
Todd: It wasn't like that and you know it.
Tea: I know that you were a married man when you seduced me. That makes you an adulterer.
Todd: You seduced me. What does that make you?
Tea: Your mistress. Don't feel special. It certainly wasn't my first time in that role.
Todd: I never feel special. You know that.
Tea: You are special, Todd. You're also an ass.
Todd: You liked my ass before. Send your brother away and I'll show it to you again.
Tea: You need to understand that if I spend the night, that's all it will be...one night. In the morning Del and I will return to Hawaii. I'll return to my life without you.
Todd: Be straight with me. Why are you staying?
Tea: I didn't say I was. However, I do think it would be safer for us to leave in the morning.
Todd: Bull! What's the real reason you're staying?
Tea: I'm not happy with how our relationship ended the last time. By staying, if I stay, I would hope that we could end our relationship in a better way. You were very important to me for a long time. I don't want my final memories of you to be filled with pain.
Todd: What pain? You were happy you finally got rid of me. You were all over Rayburn. You probably didn't even wait until I was out of sight before you let him have you right there on our beach.
Tea: I wasn't aware you thought of it as our beach.
Todd: You know what I mean. We did that together there. You shouldn't be fucking anyone else there.
Tea: I'm surprised you even remember what we did, or where we did it. It obviously wasn't memorable enough to stop you from leaving.
Todd: You're never going to stop holding that against me, are you?
Tea: Do you think I should?
Todd: Sure.
Tea: Sorry to disappoint you, Manning. You really hurt me.
Todd: You didn't look hurt.
Tea: Did you want me to embarrass myself by begging you to stay?
Todd: You acted like you didn't give a fuck.
Tea: Because you acted like you didn't give a fuck, never had and never would. Do you know how that made me feel?
Todd: You're always twisting everything around and trying to make it seem like it's all my fault.
Tea: We both made mistakes in our relationship in the past. I'll admit that. But, what happened on this island last year was solely your fault.
Todd: It was too easy. You wanted me to bail on you, so you could use it to get into jungle boy's loin cloth. That makes it your fault.
Tea: It doesn't matter whose fault it was anymore.
Todd: So, you admit it was your fault?
Tea: I'm offering you one final night together...a platonic night. You either have to get over your obsession with who's to blame, and what I may have done, and with whom, after you abandoned me, so we can leave this relationship in a better way, or I'm going back to Hawaii right now. Which is it?
Todd: The whole night?
Tea: I made it clear there will be no sex.
Todd: Answer my question.
Tea: If you can accept that we won't be having sex, yes, I'll spend the whole night with you.
Todd: Without your chaperone?
Tea: I think Del would be willing to sleep on the boat.
[A familiar smirk again appears on Todd's face.]
Tea: I meant what I said...platonic.
Todd: Are you worried you can't trust me, or yourself?
Tea: I trusted you in the past. I've learned never to make that mistake again.
Todd: If you didn't trust me, why did you come?
Tea: I was curious.
Todd: About what?
Tea: Why you would bring me back to a place that you know holds so much pain for me.
[The pained look on Tea's face affects Todd more than he's comfortable with. Despite his attempts to dismiss it, he knows that he caused her pain the last time they were together. He hates himself for it. He knew that it would be difficult for both of them to be back here again, but he knew that he could trust her to come to him, even here. He could always count on Tea to put aside her own pain to try to soothe his.
Todd takes a deep breath, determined that this is the moment when he'll push beyond his own pain to ease hers.]
Todd: Delgado...
Tea: I should tell Del about my decision to stay...for one night.
[Tea quickly turns and leaves the cave.
Todd is relieved. He knows he owes Tea the truth, but he'll take any delay she's willing to offer him, before he has to reveal to her his true motives for bringing her back to this island.]
