PREVIOUSLY...
Tea: I love you, Todd.

[Their lips come together. They kiss for several moments, until neither feels they can wait any longer. Todd's flesh happily returns to it's preferred position inside Tea's body.]

LAST CHANCE
chapter 231:

[This time, neither occupant of the darkened, disabled elevator is in a rush to complete their sensuous activity.

Tea slowly moves against him while they kiss, their tongues actively enjoying each other.

When Todd removes his lips from hers and begins kissing her neck, she speaks softly to him.]

Tea: You have the sexiest tongue.

[Todd slides his hands up her outer thighs toward her buttocks as he whispers in her ear.]

Todd: You have the sexiest...

[They're both startled by the unexpected sound of a female voice bellowing from beyond the elevator doors.]

Woman: Hello? This is Carol, from maintenance. Is anyone in there?

[Todd and Tea both freeze in their activities. They knew that someone would eventually realize they were stuck in the elevator and rescue them. This, however, was certainly not the moment they wanted that to happen.

Neither speaks for several seconds, uncertain what to do. They're both instantly embarrassed by their predicament, yet neither makes any move to disconnect their bodies.]

Carol: Hello? Is anyone in the elevator?

[Realizing that if they don't respond and later are rescued, it would be even more obvious what they were doing and, ultimately, be more embarrassing for Todd, Tea decides to respond. She just hopes that she can keep her voice calm enough not to draw suspicions about their exhaustive activities.]

Tea: Yes. There are two of us in here.

Carol: Are you okay? Do you need medical attention?

Tea: No. We're fine. How long will it be until you can get us out?

Carol: I'll have to call someone. It will probably be at least another hour.

Tea: Good!

[Todd groans, letting her know he doesn't approve of her response.]

Tea: It's good that it won't be much longer.

Carol: I'll tell them to hurry.

Tea: Don't bother.

[Todd again lets her know he doesn't approve.]

Tea: If there are other needs that are more immediate, they should be taken care of first.

Carol: I'll go upstairs right now and make the call. I also have a few other things in the building to check on. I'll come back as soon as I can.

[Tea waits several seconds, until she believe the woman has walked away before whispering to Todd.]

Tea: We should also come as soon as we can.

Todd: Delgado!

Tea: You heard Carol. We have at least an hour.

Todd: But, she could come back before then. I don't want some chick listening to us while we're doing it.

Tea: You could try not to make as much noise as you normally do.

Todd: You're the one who screams out my name, and whatever else you're saying when you go Spanish on me.

Tea: I'm the one who was almost finished here. We should hurry. I need time to try not to look like I just had mind-blowing sex.

Todd: You look beautiful.

Tea: It's pitch black in here. You have no idea what I look like.

Todd: We've done this before, remember? I know exactly what you look like right now.

Tea: Do you know what I want right now?

Todd: To stand up so I can bang you against the wall?

Tea: We'll do that next.

Todd: What's gotten into you, Delgado?

Tea: You have...and I love the way it feels.

[They resume kissing and increase the pace of their movements, trying to speed up their lovemaking. They both now wish that they had hours more to be stranded in the elevator together.]

LAST CHANCE
chapter 232:

[Minutes later...]

Tea: What did you do with my underwear?

Todd: Why would I do something with your underwear?

Tea: You're the one who took them off me. Where did you put them?

Todd: Why?

Tea: Because, I need to put them back on.

Todd: You don't have to wear any. I'm not.

Tea: I think that's very sexy...for you.

Todd: Maybe I think it's sexy for you, too.

Tea: But, it's different for me than it is for you.

Todd: How?

Tea: While we're making love, I don't release into you copious amounts of...

Todd (quickly interrupting her): Okay, I get it.

[Todd pulls her panties from his pocket. In the darkness, he feels his way down her legs and places the panties on her body.]

Tea: You found them?

Todd: I just happened to, yeah.

Tea: Were they in your pocket again?

Todd: You think I was trying to steal your underwear?

Tea: Some guys like a souvenir.

Todd: So, there are guys all over Llanview and New York that have your underwear? No wonder you go shopping so much.

Tea: Don't start.

Todd: I'm not starting anything. I'm just making an observation.

Tea: You're trying to start a fight.

Todd: Why would I do that?

Tea: Because, we connected again. Now, that we're about to be rescued from this stupid elevator, you're back to wanting to end our relationship.

Todd: Why do you want to keep burdening yourself by being with me, anyway?

Tea: Because I love you.

Todd: You hate every second we're together.

Tea: We just had many seconds that I'm certain I made quite clear I didn't hate.

Todd: Okay, you're into doing that with me, for some reason. It's everything else that you hate.

Tea: I do not.

Todd: I know the truth.

Tea: What truth? Since we still have some time before we get out of here, fill me in on what you think you know.

Todd: There's no point. This thing between us is over.

Tea: Oh, no, it's not.

Todd: If I say it's over, it's over. End of story.

Tea: You promised me that when we got out of this elevator, you'd take me to bed. I'm holding you to your word.

Todd: I was in the middle of screwing you, Delgado. You can't hold a guy to anything he says while he's getting some. All he's thinking about, in a moment like that, is getting some more.

Tea: Well, you'll be getting more, because we're not through yet.

Todd: Don't even try going back to my penthouse when we get out of here. You don't live there anymore.

Tea: If you want to throw away what we have, you go right ahead, but you will not throw me out of my own home, ever again.

[The small elevator fills with angry silence.

Within several minutes, Todd is nervously pacing along one side of the elevator. Tea listens as his fist pounds against the side of the elevator as he walks the small length. She knows that, without sex, or more fighting, to distract him, his anxiety about being trapped is rising again.]

Tea: Todd?

Todd: Yeah?

Tea: Okay.

Todd: Okay?

Tea: Okay.

[Todd realizes that she's offering to have sex with him again. He knows that she's angry at him, but she's still willing to be with him, if it would help him survive the rest of their time trapped in the darkened elevator.]

Todd: Sure?

Tea: Sure.

[Todd can't stop himself from smiling, not just because they'll have sex again, but because, despite how angry she is at him, she still wants to do whatever she can to help him through what she knows is a difficult time for him.]

Todd: Stand up.

[Tea stands up in the corner of the elevator.]

Tea: Okay.

[Todd slowly moves toward her, his hand stretched out in front of him. When he finally makes contact with her, he places his arms around her and presses her against the side of the elevator. His lips quickly find hers and his anxiety again relaxes, as his passion for her takes over his thoughts.]

LAST CHANCE
chapter 233:

[Moments later...

Todd is still pressing Tea into the corner of the elevator, while he passionately kisses her. One of his hands moves between their bodies and quickly makes its way under her skirt and into her underwear.

Tea moans as he masterfully ignites her passion for him again. As he continues to excite her, without seeking additional pleasure for himself, she seeks it for him by trying to bring her hand to the front of his pants.

He stops kissing her, but continues the activity of his fingers against her delicate flesh.]

Tea: We should hurry.

Todd: I'm trying.

Tea: I'm willing to try, too. Let me feel you.

Todd: I'm not ready.

Tea: I could help you get ready.

Todd: Not this time.

Tea: If it's too much, we could just kiss for a while.

Todd: I could do it again.

Tea: Good.

Todd: But, I won't.

[Tea grabs at his hand, wanting him to stop, convinced that he's playing some sort of game with her. Even though, she's enjoying whatever the game is, she isn't willing to allow him to use her attraction for him to manipulate her.]

Todd: I thought that's what you wanted, Delgado?

Tea: I want to be with you.

Todd: You're stuck being with me in this stupid elevator, so just shut up and enjoy it.

Tea: I will not shut up. I will not move out of the penthouse.

Todd: I didn't say anything about my penthouse.

Tea: It's my penthouse. I live there. You can live wherever you choose, but you will not charm me out of my home.

Todd: Is that what you think I'm trying to do?

Tea: Yes.

Todd: I was just trying to distract you so you wouldn't freak out about being stuck in this dark, metal coffin.

Tea: I'm the one who was distracting you.

Todd: It was my hand in your underwear.

Tea: Well, I wanted my hand in your underwear. You stopped me, for some unknown reason.

Todd: I'm not wearing any underwear, remember?

Tea: Why are we fighting?

Todd: Because you obviously don't want me to get you off.

Tea: You already did...more than once.

Todd: So, you've reached your limit?

Tea: Not yet...not with you.

Todd: Then, shut up and let me do my job.

Tea: What about you?

Todd: When we can finally get out of this hellhole, it's okay for you if we have to stop in the middle. No one would know. Everyone would know if I had to stop in the middle.

Tea: Whoever is on the other side of those doors when they open will know, anyway. It will be quite obvious.

Todd: Maybe not.

Tea: I think it will be. You should prepare yourself for that.

Todd: Now I get it. This was all so I'd have to move to a new town and you could steal my penthouse from me.

Tea: I give up!

Todd: You're going to let me have the penthouse?

Tea: No. I'm keeping that. I'm giving up on trying to help you anymore. You can go ahead and have a panic attack, for all I care.

[Todd steps away from Tea. His foot bumps into one of her suitcases and he kicks it as hard as he can. Tea immediately regrets allowing her frustration to escalate into words that she didn't mean. She feels her way in the dark, seeking him out.]

Tea: Todd...

Todd: Stay the hell away from me.

Tea: I didn't mean it.

Todd: You meant it.

Tea: I didn't. I'm just frustrated, and angry, and hurt. I know that there's nothing I can do to stop you from ending our relationship when we get out of this elevator. I can't understand why you're so willing to throw away all that we have.

Todd: We have sex. Big deal! I can get that from another chick. I don't need you.

Tea: I need you.

Todd: You hate my guts. I make you miserable. I drive you crazy. I irritate you. I confuse you.

Tea: What are you talking about?

Todd: The truth.

Tea: What truth?

Todd: Yours.

Tea: That's not mine. My truth is that I love you. I want a future with you.

Todd: That's garbage. You don't want a future with me. You've got your whole future figured out and I'm nowhere in it.

Tea: Where is this coming from?

Todd: From you.

Tea: I didn't say any such thing to you.

Todd: You didn't have to. You said it to...

[Todd stops himself, realizing that he was about to reveal more than he should.]

Tea: Who? Come on, tell me who I said anything like that to. I guarantee that if you heard me say anything like that, you misunderstood my words.

[Todd is silent. Tea tries to think of any incidents in recent times that he could have misconstrued. She can't think of any. She knows that whatever upset him happened after he returned the previous day from his vacation with Starr. Carlotta and Hank are the only people that she's interacted with since his return.]

Tea: Is this about Hank and Carlotta knowing about what we were doing at the diner last night?

[Todd realizes that she won't give up trying to figure out his reason for wanting to end their relationship. He knows that the only hope he has of getting out of this without her figuring out the reason for his anger is if he distracts her immediately.

Tea is surprised when Todd's hands again appear on her body as he pulls her close to him and his lips descends on her mouth with a desperate need.]

LAST CHANCE
chapter 234:

[Moments later...

Todd and Tea are making love against the closed doors of the disabled elevator.

Outside the elevator, Carol from maintenance returns and is concerned about the mysterious sounds she hears emanating from inside the elevator.]

Carol: Hello? Is everything all right in there?

[Tea curses the return of Carol during this moment. She felt herself so close to her own release and now feels it slipping away from her. Even more disappointing to her is feeling Todd slip from her body as he ends their lovemaking.]

Carol: Hello? Hello?

[Tea takes several deep breaths, trying to force her voice to not sound like that of a woman who was seconds ago enjoying forbidden lovemaking.]

Tea: Yes?

Carol: I thought something was wrong. I heard strange noises.

Tea: That was me. I was exercising. It's kind of claustrophobic in here and I thought exercising might take my mind off being trapped and make the time go faster.

Carol: I see.

Tea: How much longer will it be?

Carol: I'm afraid it will be a while longer. Much of the city is affected by this blackout and it will take some time before anyone can come and get you out, unless this is an emergency. You did say before it wasn't. Has that changed?

Tea: No. We're fine. We're managing to pass the time.

Carol: Hopefully the power will be restored soon and you won't have to be in there much longer.

Tea: Yes...hopefully. You must have other things in the building that need your attention. We don't want to keep you from your important work. We really are fine.

Carol: Okay. I'll check back with you as soon as I can. Just know that we'll get you out as soon as possible.

Tea: Thank you.

[Tea waits until she's certain that Carol has left them alone again before speaking to Todd.]

Tea: Now, get over here and give me something to really be thankful for!

[Unknown to Tea, Todd, standing across the darkened elevator from her, drops his pants again and takes his flesh in his hand.]

Todd: I don't know if I'm in the mood anymore.

Tea: You can't do this to me. You can't possibly hate me that much.

Todd: I don't hate you at all.

Tea: You just don't want to be with me anymore.

Todd: That broad keeps interrupting us. And, you heard her, you didn't just bust the elevator, you caused a whole blackout.

Tea: I did not. You were the one who pushed the button last. Besides, it's probably just a coincidence that you were pushing that button when the power went out.

Todd: With the kind of money I pay out, they should have a back up generator, or something, so this kind of thing can't happen.

Tea: If this hadn't happened...

[Tea slowly moves toward where his voice has been coming from.]

Tea: ...we wouldn't have...

[As she reaches him, her hand quickly joins his, as she realizes what he's doing and that he's only been teasing her about not continuing their activities.]

Tea: Oh, Todd!

Todd: Oh, Todd...what?

Tea: Oh, Todd!

Todd: You're repeating yourself.

Tea: I'm waiting for you to repeat yourself. I want to return to what we were doing before we were interrupted.

Todd: That broad always seems to know when we're getting to the good part.

Tea: If we hurry, she won't have the chance to interrupt us again. We really should complete what we started.

Todd: Maybe she's standing outside, listening to us right now, just waiting for the worst moment to stop everything again.

Tea: She certainly picked the worst moment for me. I was so close.

Todd: Yeah?

Tea: Do you think you could do something to make it up to me?

Todd: It's not my fault. I guess I could try, though.

Tea: Please, hurry!

Todd: This still ends when we get out here, remember?

Tea: You're taking me to our penthouse...to our bed, when we get out of here.

Todd: It's my penthouse.

Tea: If you would only tell me what happened to make you want to end our relationship again, we could work it out. This doesn't have to end.

[Tea recognizes the irritation in Todd's voice as he speaks again.]

Todd: Do you want to do this, or not?

Tea: I want to do this. I won't stop wanting more. Now that I know there's been a misunderstanding, I won't stop fighting for...

[Not wanting to talk anymore, Todd interrupts Tea by passionately kissing her.

LAST CHANCE
chapter 235:

[Todd and Tea are both sitting on the floor of the small, darkened elevator, recovering from their latest lovemaking. Neither knows how long this blackout has lasted so far, but it feels like it may have been weeks, or even years since they became trapped. Time is going so slowly but neither really cares at this point. As long as they are able to continue to distract each other from their current situation, they're both happy, despite Todd's insistence that their relationship will be over as soon as they are rescued. Tea is feeling more confident with each sexual encounter they share that he won't be able to follow through on his threat to kick her out of the penthouse, or out of his life. She may not know what has him so angry at her, but she certainly knows that whatever it is hasn't affected his desire for her, or his love. She feels both too strongly to believe that he'll ever again walk away from her permanently.

Tea smiles as she sighs contentedly.]

Todd: What was that?

Tea: Did you hear Carol again?

Todd: I heard you. You don't have me wrapped around your little finger. You can get that idea out of your head right now.

Tea: I'd rather be the one who's wrapped around your not-so-little...

Todd: You're out of luck, Delgado. I'm done.

Tea: We've barely begun. We have a record we're striving for, remember?

Todd: You'll have to go the rest of the way on your own.

Tea: You're the one who wanted this record reached so badly.

Todd: That was a stupid idea.

Tea: As long as we're trapped here, we should make the most of it.

Todd: You really want to keep doing that?

Tea: If you have any doubts, give me a few minutes and I'll eliminate them.

Todd: Even you couldn't make it happen again for a while.

Tea: Would you mind if I tried?

Todd: Are you nuts?

[Tea slowly moves toward him. She straddles his body and quickly unbuttons his shirt. For more than a minute she does nothing but caress his chest.]

Todd: Delgado...

Tea: Yes, Querido?

Todd: Don't call me that.

Tea: You're my querido, Todd.

Todd: This is over when we get out of here. You know that.

Tea: I know no such thing.

Todd: I made it clear.

Tea: The way you touch me, the way you kiss me, the way you make love to me, tells me all I need to know. This isn't over between us. It will never be over.

Todd: You don't really want to be with me.

Tea: I think I've already proven how wrong you are about that.

Todd: Having sex in an elevator doesn't mean we're getting back together.

Tea: The fact that we couldn't hold out more than a few minutes, despite that silly fight we had, says something to me. Doesn't it say something to you?

Todd: That we're both addicted to sex?

Tea: I'm addicted to you. Are you addicted to me?

Todd: Addictions are things that are bad for you.

Tea: You're certainly not bad for me. You're good for me. You're very, very good.

Todd: I make you feel lousy. I make you feel like there's something wrong with you.

Tea: You make me feel loved, when you want to. Don't give up on us.

Todd: Nothing would change. We'd get out of here. We'd have sex every day. You'd be miserable.

Tea: I'm certainly not miserable when we're having sex.

Todd: What about after?

Tea: I feel pretty good right now.

Todd: That's only because we're about to have sex again.

Tea: Maybe we should focus on that, rather than talking.

Todd: I can't change.

Tea: I'm not asking you to.

Todd: You hate the way I make you feel.

Tea: That's not true.

Todd: You'll end up hating me.

Tea: That will never happen.

Todd: We can do whatever you want while we're stuck in this stupid elevator. When those doors open, we're through.

to be continued...
