| STILL IN THE SHADOWS BY TIMA |
CHAPTER 2 |
Tea: You know, this conversation isn't over.
Todd: Yes it is.
[Todd hangs up. Tea smiles to herself for a moment before looking at her watch, and realizing the time, quickly gathers her things for work and rushes out the door.]

As Tea drives to work she's distracted thinking about Todd. She loves it when Todd calls her in the morning to let her know that he's returned to town but she hates having to make it through an entire workday dealing with boring people and boring cases when she really wants to be with Todd, locked in his motor home, locked in an embrace.
It's been a few weeks since her ex-husband returned to her life. She's still shocked not only that he's returned to her life but even more so that their relationship has taken such a physical turn. Making love to Todd against a tree was certainly not how she was expecting to spend part of her Halloween or how she envisioned her first time with Todd.
When they had finished and went to his motor home, he drove them to an RV park more than an hour away that he had purchased months earlier and had turned into an exclusive RV community...so exclusive that only Todd's motor home was allowed. He didn't want to have to deal with other people when he came to town to be near his family. He paid the small staff he employed to maintain the facilities well to keep them from asking him questions or bothering him in any way.
That night, weeks ago, in Todd's motor home, Tea and Todd made love again. This time more slowly than they had earlier in the evening against that tree. They each savored the other's presence, physically and emotionally. They both had felt isolated from people for a long time. Todd's isolation was obvious and chosen. Tea's isolation was less obvious since she still had plenty of people around her but she had felt completely emotionally isolated from everyone until Todd returned to her life...to her heart. Now, he had her body too and she had his.
Tea had tried several times to get Todd to come to her at the penthouse but he would never agree, too afraid that people would learn of his presence. Instead, Todd would call Tea when he returned to town and she would meet him and they would pleasure each other for hours in his motor home.
Todd usually only stays for a day or two and then takes off on his own only to return again a few days later. It's not the perfect arrangement but Todd and Tea both find it satisfactory, at least for now.
Tea suffers through her day and leaves work as soon as she can. On her way to meet Todd she stops off to pick up dinner from the deli in her favorite supermarket. She also picks up a few extra items since she knows that Todd's small pantry will be bare like it is every time he returns from one of his trips. Tea is thrilled when she makes it through the store without encountering anyone she knows. She doesn't want to have to explain to any overly curious acquaintances why she's buying such a large amount of food since she lives alone and as far as the people in town know isn't seeing anyone romantically.
