Birthdate: April 22, 1979

Lives: Merewether, Newcastle Australia

Nicknames: Johnsy, Dan, Danny boy..

Pets: A dog that he adores named Sweep, a rabbit named Jack, & a rock named Melon (maybe it's an Australian thing?!)

Favorite Beverages: Orange Juice & V8

Favorite Bands: Helmet, Black Sabbath, Tool, Slint, Shellac, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, You Am I...

Other: Daniel is also a vegan (which means a Vegetarian to the extreme.)

Daniel got the name for his dog (Sweep) from watching a television program when he was younger.

Daniel is also an animal rights activist. He has an animal liberation tattoo on his ankle~!

If there was no Silverchair, Daniel said that he would want to be a rugby league player.

Daniel has asthma.

Dan used to play the trumpet (with his asthma, i'm not sure how he did this. at least it wasn't a woodwind instrument...) back in the day.

Daniel has a fear of drowning.

Dan used to take break dancing lessons when he was younger.

His favorite subject in school was English.

Daniel believes in extraterrestrials.

Dan had his eyebrow pierced twice. One time it got infected and he took it out. The next time I heard he just ripped it out while in an airplane flying somewhere.

It is said that Dan used to have a "thing" for Fiona Apple.

Daniel likes video games with lots of killing involved in it, but I heard that he also likes race car type games.

Daniel also mentioned an interest in the Australian soap 'Neighbours' (I bet it has nothing to do with the fact that Natalie Imbruglia used to star in the show...)

Dan supossedly didn't like the movie 'Sliding Doors.'

His favorite place that he has been on tour was Insbrook, Austria.

Daniel plays mostly Paul Reed Smith guitars and uses D'Addario strings in .11 gauge.

For many of Silverchair's songs, I noticed that he tunes his guitar down to a dropped D tuning.
