RAISE YOUR OWN PAINTED LADIES:
Butterfly raising kits are available for those budding scientists in your house.  Comes with complete instructions.

CLASSROOM STUDY KIT
25-30 larvae, paint brushes, 30 vials, 30 lids, feeding vial, and instructions.

LIFE CYCLE KIT
10-15 larvae in rearing chamber with food, paint brush, feeding vial and instructions. 

REARING KIT
3-5 larvae in rearing chamber with food, paint brush, feeding vial and instructions.


NOTE:  Larvae do not come with a flight cage to house adult butterflies.  We recommend a terrarium until release is possible.

"ALL ABOUT BUTTERFLIES" Classroom Presentation

I will come into your classroom to talk to students or youth groups about
butterflies and moths. 

These presentations are approximately one hour long depending on grade  level. 

All butterfly life stages are displayed along with a selection of other examples of Alberta Butterflies. 

Other live insects including Giant African Millipedes and Hissing Cockroaches are also brought for students to "discover" along with the butterflies..

Cost:  $45.00
(Travel time is applicable if location is not in the City of Edmonton)

Worldwide there are roughly 28,000 species of Butterflies, about 80% of which are tropical.

Approximately 725 species are found in Canada and the US.

Alberta is home to about 180 species.

Moths outnumber butterflies 16 to 1!
