chapter 19
hyesung and jin stood at the doorway. hyesung's eyes were brimming with tears; apparently, he had heard the whole conversation. jin was holding his hand encouragingly, as he gently pushed hyesung forward.....
"hyesung!" nancy gasped, running forward to him. they embraced and started getting all emotional......
"mummy, i'm sorry....."
"silly baby, there's nothing to apologise for....i should have been more understanding and considerate....."she stroked his cheek lovingly.
"mummy........."
"and jin's welcome anytime......" she smiled at jin, thru her tears."he's part of our family......."
"thank u, mummy.......u dun know how much dis means to me, "hyesung kissed her on her cheek.
nancy sighed as she glanced at henry, who was sleeping peacefully. "after ur father's heart attack, i realised dat life is so fragile.....we might go anytime....i dun wanna waste time and energy fighting with u kids....as long as u're happy, so am i...."
"awww......"hyesung smiled, touched, as he hugged nancy even tighter.
"hey, what about me? " minwoo joked, his arms open.
nancy shrieked and giggled as she grabbed minwoo and showered him with wet kisses. "ooohhh, my babie......how could i forget u?"

"i'm so sleepy..."i whined, as i crawled into bed next to minwoo. "it's already 3am....."
minwoo wasn't listening, as he gazed into space dreamily. i waved my hand in front of him. "earth to wooie....earth to wooie......"
"hmm? "he smiled.
"whatcha thinking about?" i laughed as i snuggled closer to him. he put his arm around me and kissed my cheek.
"nothing much.....juss thinking about my family.....i juss realised how fortunate i am to have them....and u....."he looked deep into my eyes, and i blushed.
"minwoo......"i sed softly, but before i could finish my sentence, i felt his soft lips on mine. i wrapped my arms around his neck and closed my eyes.....

* the next day *
"hey lizzie! can we take the day off? " shina sang, her eyes bright as she waited eagerly for my answer.
"yups, sure....where are u going? meeting kangta?" i laughed
"hush!!" shina sed, looking around secretively. "remember what mr lee soo man sed? we have to keep our relationship under wraps!!! so i'm wearing dis!!!" she pulled out a pair of HUGE Gucci sunglasses from her bag and a large straw hat.
"how do i look? " she asked, putting them on. i stared back, stiffling a giggle. the big hat flopped down, almost covering her entire face and the sunglasses took up half her face. she strode about the shop, and accidentally walked into the wall. "ouch!!! "she yelped, feeling her forehead. "i can't see!!"
"hey, shina, why dun u try these on instead?" i suggested, handing her a smaller pair of sunglasses and a purple velvet beret. she scrowled as she put them on and peered into the mirror. "hey, these look cool!" she exclaimed happily. "and no one can recognise me!"
juss then, a guy walked into the shop. "hi, may i help u? " i smiled politely.
the guy stared back at me, then removed his sunglasses laughingly. "kangta!" shina cried happily, as they hugged passionately.
"oppa, u look so different!" shina marvelled, studying him from head to toe. kangta had gelled all his hair back, instead of letting the colored wisps flop over his hair~ his trademark hairstyle. and he was wearing really casual clothes......this blue polo tee and jeans.....he looked like any guy on the street. no one could guess dat he was KANGTA! esp when he had those big sunglasses on.......
"shina darling, shall we go now?" kangta asked, taking her hand.
"juss a minute, oppa, we have to wait for queenie....."shina smiled cheekily.
kangta's eyes lit up and his lips curved in a mischievous smile. " does she know dat heejun is coming?"
"hush! "shina whispered, looking around to make sure that queenie wasn't in earshot. "if she knew he was coming, she would blow her top! i told her dat u were gonna introduce her to some cute guy, dat's why she agreed to come!"
juss then, there was a strong whiff of chanel no 5 and queenie sashayed out of the back, dressed in a feminine pink dress. her hair rested on her shoulders in romantic curls and her makeup was flawless. "i'm ready!!!!" she announced proudly.
kangta, shina and me gaped at her. "hey, queenie, we're juss going to lotte world...." shina giggled nervously. "why are u all dressed up?"
queenie beamed. "well, u sed dat kangta was bringing a fren along right? so i gotta make a good first impression!!! so who is it???? huh? huh??? is it fany? or brain??? oh, i'm soooo sure it's brain from fly to the sky!!!! i'm so excited!!!"
shina and kangta looked at each other in dismay. * geez, i din know she would be so serious about dis....what are we gonna do NOW?* their gazes sed it all.
"err.....queenie?" shina began, but before she could finish her sentence, queenie grabbed her hand and headed for kangta's car. "bye lizzie! seeya! i'm gonna meet my prince charming now ! wish me luck!!!!"
"good luck......"i sed weakly as kangta threw me a helpless gaze and shrugged.

"shina, do i look okie? " queenie asked anxiously, touching her perfect curls.
"yeah, u look great, "shina took a deep breath. "oh, and queenie....."
"wait!!! "queenie had a look of utter horror on her lovely face.
"what's wrong?" shina and kangta asked in unision.
"i dun even know what brian likes!!! what movies does he like? what music does he listen to? what kinda gals does he like? i hope he doesn't like sporty ones, cos i hate sports! but then, for brian's sake, i might give it a try....and when we get married, i want a sexy gown and a beautiful apartment and a chihuahua........"she started babbling on, caught up in her fantasy world, in which everything was perfect, and brian was the perfect adoring husband.......
shina was getting very worried now. "queenie, "she interrupted shina. "i have to tell u something......it's NOT brian......"
* poof *
queenie's dream bubble exploded. "what do u mean, it's not brian?" she squeaked, shocked and disappointed.
"it's......."kangta began.
"ooh ooh!!! it must be fany right??? "queenie cried out suddenly, giving poor kangta a shock of his life. "but i thought u mentioned dat he was engaged.....unless he cancelled his engagement? hmm, dat makes sense...."
shina shook her head. "no no, queenie, it's not what u think......"
juss then, a familiar figure approached. "hihi~~~!" it waved, bouncing happily.
queenie stared in disbelief and horror, while shina and kangta exhanged anxious looks, as they made plans to run away before queenie slaughtered them. they were about to head for the exit, when queenie turned towards shina and demanded, "u mean.......my date is HEEJUN??? what the fuck! and why's he dressed like DAT??"
heejun was wearing a black tuxedo and a silver bowtie....with shiny black leather shoes and he was wearing foundation and lipgloss! and he seemed to have shed a few kilos....all that working out had done him much good...it was obvious dat he had taken great pains to get ready for dis date, and shina had to admit that he looked great, but kinda outta place in lotte world.....pple were giving him weird looks and pointing excitedly, crying, "hey, dat's heejun from h.o.t!!!" but thank goodness, no one recognised kangta or shina.........most probably cos heejun stole the limelight, and shina and kangta looked fairly plain compared to him......shina was secretly pleased with dis......
"u mean, i'm stuck with dis freak??? "queenie cried, frustrated, as heejun stared at the ground, looking as though he was gonna cry any second. "what ever happened to brian?? or fany??"
"queenie....i never sed they were coming..."shina sed softly, touching queenie's arm hesitantly. queenie shook it off roughly, as tears of fury filled her eyes.
"sorrie...."kangta added. "but since we're here, can't we juss try to get along and have fun??"
queenie was about to retort when she caught sight of heejun's tearstained face, and she sighed. "oh, watever....." she muttered under her breath, feeling very bad.
shina and kangta cheered, while heejun smiled weakly. "let's go on the rides!!! the roller coaster!!!"kangta yelled, as he grabbed shina's hand and they ran off happily.
" u want some cotton candy, queenie? "heejun asked, before slapping his mouth. oops, he had forgotten dat he was not supposed to act like a pig around queenie.....oh and he had to be romantic...... he cleared his throat and put his arm around queenie, trying his best to make his voice sexy and sensual, "so queenie.....shall we go on some rides?" okies, he sounded kinda stupid, but hey, what he was saying was stupid....there was no way he could make dat sentence sound sexy....i mean, "shall we go on some rides? "hullo? (LOL)
queenie glared at him and slapped him hard. * sLaP *
heejun's big eyes filled with clear, crystalline tears again. "leave me alone!"she hissed as she ran off to where kangta and shina were queuing happily.
shina: awww.....kangta has such lovely eyes... and such a nice smile....and i can't believe we're actually going out!!! oh wow..........
kangta: shina's so beautiful......and so sweet.....she's my dreamgirl..i gotta treasure every second with her......
queenie : hmmm........these lovebirds are completely engrossed with each other, they clear forgot about me! shit, there goes my so-called hot date....what a bummer.....i can't believe i'm stuck with dis guy all afternoon....
heejun: * sob * queenie hates me! i wish tony was here to help me! kangta is useless...he only cares about his stupid gf.....hey, FRIES!!! oooh.....they smell nice! i must get some!!!!!!
chapter 20
* at lotte world ( cont'd ) *
they stood in line to get on the roller coaster......it was a weird sight...shina and kangta were dressed so casually, while heejun and queenie were dressed for a prom. and heejun was sweating profusely in his black tux and his foundation was melting! and what made it even weirder, was dat kangta and shina were all lovey-dovey, acting like a normal couple in love, but queenie and heejun were plain ignoring each other......or rather queenie was ignoring poor heejun....she would look away and scrowl every time he made a feeble attempt to start a conversation.....after awhile, heejun gave up, looking miserable and deflated, as he ate his fries.........shina and kangta were oblivious to all dis, as they were so caught up in their little romantic world, while the other bored pple in the queue
observed heejun and queenie in amusement.................
"hey shina, let's sit together....."queenie begged, tugging at shina's arm.
"sowwie, i'm with kangta....."shina smiled brightly as they got on the ride. he put his arm around her and kissed her cheek tenderly.
queenie pouted. "but i'm scared........"
"no worries, queenie!!! i'm here!!!"heejun declared proudly, thumping his chest.
"u?" queenie rolled her eyes. when heejun sat next to her, she pushed him away rudely. "u!!!! get away from me! i'm not sitting with u!!! no no no!!!"
poor heejun got up sadly and sat behind queenie instead.........
"aaaaaHHHHHHHHHHH~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!"everyone screamed as the ride began.
"yiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!"
"i dun feel too good......"heejun whispered.
"what???"queenie yelled, her eyes closed and her hair blowing in the wind.
"aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!" queenie shrieked as heejun threw up. some of his * ahem* puke flew to the front and landed on her dress. "shit shit shit!!!! damn u heejun!!!"
as the ride slowly came to a standstill, heejun was blue and green in the face....while queenie was fuming mad......shina and kangta had enjoyed themseleves thoroughly........
"geez, what happened to u guys?" shina asked in concern.
kangta chuckled. "yeah, u guys look a mess......"
queenie glared at them as she looked at her dress in distaste, and stormed off , heading for the restroom........
heejun was getting more and more blue......."i feel sick, " he sed weakly, as he crawled off the ride and made a mad dash for the potted plants nearby.

it took a whole hour before heejun and queenie finally got themselves cleaned up. queenie was still pissed, as she shot heejun evil looks every second..while heejun was getting some color back in his face, and returning to his normal cheery and HUNGRY self, as he eyed some popcorn eagerly. shina and kangta were getting impatient and exasperated. "damn, dis isn't such a good idea after all......"their looks read.
"hey guys, mabbe we should juss do something less exciting?" kangta suggested, drawing shina closer to him.
"look, there's some special peformance over there, "shina pointed to where a large crowd was gathered, watching some seals perform.
"hey, looks interesting......."kangta commented as they sat down at the back.
"oh wait, i gotta buy popcorn!"heejun exclaimed, as he jumped up quickly. he was back a few minutes later, his mouth stuffed with fluffy golden popcorn.
"aww, isn't dat cute.........."shina cooed as a seal cocked its head and stumbled over towards them, then flopped down and rested on its belly.......
heejun laughed loudly and showered everyone with popcorn. "oops, sowwie, "he sed, stuffing more popcorn into his mouth.
"hey, dat's disgutsing!" kangta frowned as he flicked some popcorn off his polo shirt.
"yeah.....like u're not equally disgusting, KANGTA!!!!!!"heejun retorted loudly.
kangta's frown deepened, while shina and queenie giggled. juss then, they noticed dat a disturbing hush had descended on the crowd. all 50 over pairs of eyes were on them, and everyone was gaping in shock.........everyone looked bewildered and stunned........
"oh man, dis doesn't look good......" kangta whispered nervously, nudging heejun, who was getting scared also.
"where's the exit? where's the exit?" heejun panicked. "over there...let's scoot!" he sprung up and tried to make a mad dash for the exit, but it was too late....
a gal in the front row stood up suddenly, and pointed at kangta. "hey look!!! it's kangta oppa!!!!! OPPA!!!!!!!"she shrieked excitedly and started running over, followed by 100 other gals from all directions..........
"aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...................." kangta cried as a whole swarm of gals buzzed around him, tugging at his shirt, his hair and molesting him in every place imaginable.............* aheM*
another bunch of gals pushed queenie aside roughly, as they attacked poor heejun. they grabbed him, causing him to upset his whole bucket of popcorn......
"hey!!!"he yelled angrily, tears trickling down his cheeks as the popcorn flew into the air and scattered all over the ground...........
"dun worry, heejun oppa!!! U can have mine!!!" a petite gal offered him her ENORMOUS barrel of popcorn.
"and mine! "
"and mine!!!"
"and mine!!!"
"oppa, u can have my candyfloss too! and dis hotdog! and these pretzels!!!"
heejun's eyes brightened as he accepted all the snacks offered to him gratefully. they sat down chatting and laughing, as heejun gobbled down everything.......compared to kangta's bunch of fans, heejun's fans were really tame and well-behaved. the most they ever went was to snitch heejun's bowtie, but heejun din mind a single bit.....it was choking him anyways........
meanwhile, poor kangta was having a very hard time fending off his hormone-raging fans......they ripped his shirt, pulled off his sunglasses and stomped on them, tugged at his hair, caressed his cheek and showered him with wet, slobbery kisses.............one even stroked his butt and he yelped in horror.
"kangta!!!! i'm gonna rape u!!!!!" one of the gals yelled suddenly, as she charged towards him. his eyes widened and his face took on an expression of terror and pain.
"noooooooo!!!!!"he screamed as he grabbed shina's hand and tried to escape from his predators.........
"hey, YOU!!! leave my darling alone!!!" shina yelled angrily, as she faced the gals bravely. kangta whimpered and hid behind her, examining his bruises and cuts......
the gals eyed shina suspiciously. "hey, it's dat gal in the papers the other day!!! oppa's galfriend!!!! they really ARE going out!!!!! damn! sistahs, let's CHARGE!!!" with dat, the hundred gals all surged forward, making a wild dash for shina. shina tried to retaliate, but it was no use.......the furious bitches were too strong.......
"shina........" kangta whispered helplessly. he wanted to save her so badly, but he was scared that he might get attacked again.............
"oh, what the fuck!!!"he yelled suddenly as he was filled with superman energy. he flexed his muscles and charged forward valiantly. "shina, i'm here to save u!!!! i'm here, baby!!!!!" he punched out at the attackers...........
"heejun to the rescue!!!!!" heejun shouted loudly as he too, dived into the crowd. in less than 5 minutes, the 2 mighty heroes had managed to konk out all the crazed attackers.................
heejun smirked, as he looked around at all the writhing bodies surrouding him. kangta kissed shina's tears away as he smiled softly at her.....his eyes were glazed with passion and love..........he brushed her hair away from her face, and promised, "shina, as long as i'm here, i'll never allow anyone to hurt ya........"
shina smiled thru her tears as she flung her arms around kangta and kissed his lips tenderly. "i love u, oppa........"
"i love u too......."
meanwhile, queenie was looking at heejun weirdly.......her fake eyelashes fluttered nonstop, as though she was in shock, and her mouth was fixed in a permanent "O"......she started breathing heavily...........
"queenie, are u alright?" heejun asked concerned. he waved his hand in front of her face, but she juss blinked, and continued gaping at heejun.
"kangta! HELPZ!!!!!!! something's wrong wif queenie!!!!!!"heejun cried, scared, as he shook queenie vigorously. but her glazed expression still remained........
"what's wrong wif her?" kangta and shina walked over, worried.
"she's not responding!!!!! she's juss blinking and she looks like she's gone into complete shock! oh my oh my!!!!! queenie~~~~!!! my darling!!!!!!!"
as he uttered these words, queenie jerked, as though electrocuted, and she looked at heejun........
"queenie?" heejun's eyes were filled with love and worry.
"u're so brave........."she muttered dreamily. "and so handsome.....i think i'm falling in love wif u........." with dat, she collapsed into heejun's strong arms.......
"queenie?" heejun asked, shocked beyond words.
chapter 21
"ahhhhhh.............!!!" queenie screamed as she sat up suddenly in bed, her eyes wide.
"what's the matter?" i asked,worried, as i rushed over to her bed.
"yeah, "shina added. "u're all pale......"
"heejun......heejun......"she sed anxiously, scanning the room. "where is he?"
"he's outside in the living room.....what happened?"
"lizzie!"she grabbed me by the shoulders. "i think i'm in love!!! u should have seen heejun juss now, he was so brave and macho!!! right, shina?" she looked at shina excitedly. shina nodded, bewildered by dis sudden change in queenie.
i giggled. "wow, sounds like ur plan succeeded, shina..........."
queenie tossed the comforter away and jumped out of bed happily. "hey, where am i in the first place?" she narrowed her eyes as she looked around the strange room.
"we're at kangta's house.....dis is heejun's room......"shina answered, laughingly.
"oooh! no wonder it smells so nice! "she closed her eyes and inhaled. "mmmm.........it smells like heejun! " with dat, she ran out of the room........
shina and i rolled our eyes as we followed her silently........heejun was sitting on the sofa, looking very distracted, as he switched channels continuously with his remote. "i wonder how queenie is....."he kept muttering over and over to himself.
"heejUN!!! can u STOP changing channnels????"tony yelled, exasperated, as he flung a cushion at heejun. "it's giving me a fucking headache!!!"
"ooh................ooh.......ahh......."moans were heard as heejun accidentally selected the porno channel ( lol).
"stop!!! stop!!! i wanna watch dat!!!"woohyuk screamed excitedly, as he leaned forward, his eyes glued to the screen. but it was too late, as heejun clicked at the buttons randomly and a children's programme came on. tony and woohyuk were crestfallen as they were forced to watch costumed animals prance around, singing children's songs........
"damn!!" tony cursed angrily.
"hey, tony, dat monkey looks like u!!!"woohyuk guffawed.
"shut up, woohyuk!!!"
juss then, heejun caught sight of queenie. "queenie!!!"he cried happily as he flung the remote in the air and ran towards her. woohyuk and tony made a mad jump for it and immediately changed back to the porno channel...moans filled the house again.........
"heejun oppa!"queenie smiled happily as they embraced.
"my darling, are u ok?" heejun asked, concerned, as he lovingly stroked her curls.
"i'm fine with u around....."queenie sed sweetly. "and oppa? i'm sorrie for treating u so badly in the past.....do u hate me for dat?"
heejun shook his head vehemently, and his blue hair swung from side to side. "of course i don't......i love u, queenie, dun u get it? i love u so much........"he looked slightly embarassed as he sed dis. jaewon snorted in disgust.
"oppa....."queenie smiled, as she cupped his face and planted a long,loving kiss on his sexy lips, right then, in front of everyone.
"oohhhhh.....dis is better than watching porno! real life public display of affection!!! woohoo!!!" woohyuk exclaimed excitedly, as he nudged tony. but tony's eyes were still glued to the screen, unblinkingly, as he watched the gal slowly disrobe. he pushed woohyuk away impatiently, and woohyuk lost his balance and landed on the floor with a loud thud.........
shina and i walked up to queenie and hugged her warmly. "i'm so happy for u," i sed softly
"yeah, me too....." shina smiled
"thanks,.....i wouldn't have found heejun if it wasn't because of u guys....no words can describe how lucky and grateful i am now......it's ironical how my prince charming had been around all along, but i never realised it..."queenie laughed, blushing. "but i guess fate works in marvellous ways? i never would have thought that i would end up with heejun, but look at us now....i surprise even myself!!!"
"i guess dis is called twisted fate? "shina sed wisely. "for example, look at lizzie......she never would have thought dat she'd fall for her kidnapper!"
everyone burst out laughing as i turned red in the face.
"speaking of which, where's ur kidnapper? "shina joked.
"oh, minwoo has some press conference on todae.....he's been real busy the whole week....."
"of course! he's been making headlines practically every day of the week!!!"queenie squealed excitedly as she picked up some copies of the newspapers dat were strewn all over the living room.......
"Prodigal son returns!!!" she announced, reading the bold headlines splashed across the country's top-selling paper.
" lee minwoo to take over family's assets worth US$10 billion!!!" she gasped dramatically, as she read another headline.
" the lee's family happy reunion!!!" she read a caption at the bottom of a family photo, taken at a recent party. henry, nancy, minwoo, hyesung and jin were smiling broadly in the photo.........i felt a pang in my heart as i remembered dat dongwan should have been part of the photo.....life was juss so unpredictable......
"korea's most desirable bachelor: LEE MIN WOO!!!" queenie picked up another paper. splashed across the front page were photos of minwoo being surrounded by beautiful gals at the same party......i frowned jealously when i caught sight of them.
"ooh, someone's jealous!" queenie sed teasingly. heejun nudged her warningly, while kangta darted worried glances at me. tony and woohyuk were too engrossed in the porno movie to even hear a word we were saying. and jaewon was huddled on the sofa,sleeping peacefully.
"err....." shina tried to change the subject. "hey, look, there's some more articles on minwoo here!"she read out some other headlines, but i wasn't really paying attention.....suddenly, she was silent......
"what's the matter?" i asked.
"erm, nothing, "shina stammered, all flustered, as she hid the paper behind her back and looked at kangta nervously.
"lemme see dat...." i demanded, trying to snatch the paper from her.
"no no no, it's nuthing, "shina insisted as she handed the paper to kangta quickly, who headed for the rubbish bin.
"i wanna see!!!" i cried impatiently, as i tried to stop kangta. but shina was blocking my way....i pushed her away roughly and grabbed the paper out of kangta's hand.
"what the heck!!! "my mouth dropped open as i caught sight of the article. * lee minwoo romancing billionaire's daughter jessica lee!!!!!!!!* the headlines screamed. below dat was a photo of them dancing at the party, and another of minwoo leaning over to whisper something into her ear....they looked disturbingly intimate....he had his arm around her and she was all smiles......
"i'm sure it's juss a misunderstanding, "kangta consoled me quickly, as hot tears filled my eyes.
"misunderstanding, my foot!!!"queenie snorted. "they sure look like they're having an affair!! dat bastard!"
my heart started racing as i stared at the photo. was queenie right? dat minwoo was going out wif her? i desperately wanted to believe dat he still loved me, but the picture proved otherwise.......all his promises were juss lies......a pack of flithy lies......a leopard never changes its spots.....a playboy can never be tamed......juss like dongwan had betrayed me, so did minwoo.....
tears trickled down my cheeks, and i started sobbing uncontrollably. the paper slipped out of my hands and fell to the ground.....i could feel my heart splitting into two.......betrayal, pain and grief gushed over me as i sunk to the ground....
shina knelt down next to me and hugged me comfortingly. "lizzie.....dun cry.......mabbe it's juss a misunderstanding.......let's hear what minwoo has to say first ok?"
i shook my head stubbornly as the tears juss poured down......and the heartbreak tugged at me mercilessly......."no, " i managed thru my sobs. " i dun wanna know........i dun wanna be hurt again......."
"oh lizzie, "shina sed sympathetically as she hugged me closer. i clung onto her,sobbing my heart out. minwoo's image kept flashing repeatedly in my mind, and no matter how much i tried, i couldn't block it out........
juss then, my handphone rang.
"i'll get it, "queenie offered quietly.
a few minutes later, she returned. her pretty face was set in a solemn, grim look.
"what's the matter?" heejun asked, concerned, putting his arm around her.
queenie took a deep breath and sighed. "i dunno how to put dis......"
"juss say it!"shina sed impatiently.
"dat was minwoo......"queenie stopped,looking at me warily.
"go ahead...i can take it......" i tried to control my tears as i looked at her expectantly.
