chapter 22
"what? repeat dat?" i whispered, the blood draining from my face.
" minwoo's family has some business dealings with jessica's family, so both of them have gone to america to settle some contract, it was a last minute decision, " queenie informed me.
minwoo and jessica? no, dis can't be true! and for one whole month! anything can happen in 1 month! i thought of all the things dat had happened the past month.....how i had met minwoo, how our hatred turned to love, how we started going out together, the memories and times we spent together..........
"i think i should get going, "i sed softly, as i headed for the door.
"i'll send u home, "kangta offered.
"it's ok, i can manage by myself, bye ," i brushed away my tears and left.
the cold night breeze kinda cleared my thoughts as i slowly walked home.
"may i help u, miss?" a tiny old lady smiled warmly at me as i stopped by the convenience store.
"i'll have a look around, thanks," my gaze fell upon the latest issue of one of korea's top-selling gossip magazines, and my heart skipped a beat. "lee minwoo and jessica lee : are they going out for reals?" the headlines flashed. on the cover was a picture of them; minwoo had his arm around her and they were smiling happily. with trembling hands, i picked up the magazine and turned the pages. there was a 5- page feature on them. apparently, they had known each other since childhood, ever since both the lee families started having business dealings. the magazine went as far as to name them the "millenium couple" and even predicted that they might get married sometime dis year, and that their marriage would further strengthen their business relationship.......
"they make such a great couple, dun they?" a voice piped up. it was the little old lady. she smiled admiringly at the cover.
"u think so?"
"of course!!! both of them are so sweet together.......they're korea's most happening couple at dis moment! they have everything......looks, wealth, fame, status, adoration......" she sighed. "and lee minwoo is so handsome!!! any gal would die to be jessica! i know i would!"
I slowly put the magazine back, trying hard to control my tears. everyone thought minwoo and jessica were a perfect match. for the very first time, i thought myself unworthy of minwoo. our differences in social status and lifestyle never bothered me until now. suddenly, i realised how very different we were. when we first started going out earlier dis month, he was juss a regular guy, without all the publicity and scrutiny. but now, he was back in the limelight, leading a lavish lifestyle, and having tons of gals falling heads over heels in love with him. i suspected dat he never truly loved me, dat he fell for me cos he was lonely, dat i was juss a substitute. dis painful conclusion hurt, but i knew dat it could well be the truth.......

* at some cafe, 1 week later *
shina leaned across the table, and motioned to queenie. "psst psst!"
"what's the matter?" queenie leaned forward eagerly, curiousity getting the better of her.
shina's eyes twinkled with mischief. " kangta and i are celebrating our 1 month anniversary dis weekend, and i wanna spring him a surprise.....u know how he's always so sweet and romantic and stuff? well, now, i wanna do something for him.......but i need ur help, queenie, "
queenie giggled. "what do u have in mind then?"
"okies, firstly, u and dapheny kidnap kangta......"shina whispered.
"what???? kidnap kangta?????" queenie shrieked loudly. diners at the other tables turned around, frowning disapprovingly.
" queenie! do u want the whole wide world to know about our plan??"shina asked, exasperated.
"but.....how are we gonna do dat??" queenie stammered.
shina sighed. "i dun mean kidnap him in the serious sense.....juss catch him unaware, blindfold him, get him into the car and drive him to dis restaurant where i'll be waiting for him. we're gonna have a candlelight dinner....."
"oh okies, "queenie heaved a sigh of relief. "dat's easy then.....cool! but hey, why are we asking dapheny instead of lizzie?"
"cos lizzie's so upset over minwoo and all those reports, i dun think she'll be in the mood to help us out. did u see yesterday's reports??? some magazine got hold of lizzie's photos and published them, accusing her of being the third party between minwoo and dat bitch jessica lee!"
"yeah, i saw those......dat magazine is too much!" queenie shook her head angrily. "they even sed lizzie shamelessly threw herself at minwoo and seduced him! and they had the audacity to label her a slut!!! it's too much! they should get their facts right before they defame her dis way! lizzie's really affected by these reports....she was crying all day yesterday, and she hasn't eaten or slept since......"
shina sighed. "yeah, i'm so worried about her, let's visit her after we settle dis ok?"
"yeah, "queenie nodded. "so, shina, which restaurant are u planning to go to?"
"dat's the problem!!! "shina pouted. "I have NO idea which restaurant to choose! i've been browsing through dozens of restaurant guides, but i still haven't found anywhere special.......and i want dis to be PERFECT! it's so nervewrecking!"
queenie smirked as she produced a thick, dog-eared booklet from her shopping bag. "ta-da!!!"she announced. "the solution to ur problem!!!!"
shina blinked. "100 fave restaurants for dummies" she read. "eh? what's dis?"
"it's the BEST restaurant guide ever!!!! ever!!! i carry dis around all the time! it comes in really handy, especially since heejun is such a glutton!!! "she giggled happily as she thought of her darling heejun. " so far, we've been to almost all the places they recommended......"
"wow! dis is cool! "shina exclaimed as she studied an advertisement. "look! it's a floating seafood restaurant on the waters! per-FECT! kangta loves the sea....and it describes it as 'the perfect romantic setting for dates and special occasions'!!!! "
"oh yeah, heejun and i have been there once......the food's really yummy, and the ambience's great....though heejun was more interested in his grilled lobster than in me....he din even comment on my sexy black dress, and i went thru all the pains to dress up......"
shina leaned over and planted a kiss on queenie's cheek. "thanks! u're a life saviour!"
queenie beamed. "no problem! ok, let's embark on our 'kidnap kangta' mission!"

* at kangta's house *
"hey, kangta, u ok? why are u looking so distracted?" heejun asked, concerned, as he carefully applied his red nail polish. "do u think dis shade's pretty?"
tony spat out his grape juice. "what the fuck, heejun!!!! nail polish is only for gals!!!! dun be such a sissy!!"
heejun was insulted. "dis is for my outside castle image........the red nail polish matches my hair color, " he had juss colored his hair a flaming red shade a few days back..........
"will u guys shut up??" kangta yelled suddenly, scaring the daylights out of heejun and tony.
"hey, kangta, what's the matter?" tony stammered.
"yeah, i've never seen u dis worked up before....." heejun commented.
kangta looked miserable. "sorrie guys, but i had something on my mind.....u see, our anniversary is coming soon, and i wanna bring shina somewhere special for a candlelight dinner, but i can't find a suitable place....most restaurants are either too far, or the food's yukky, or we've been there before......and i want someplace really special and memorable......."
"hey, i know! " heejun jumped up immediately. "there's dis floating seafood restaurant on the waters! the scenery there is breathtaking! queenie and i juss had dinner there a while ago......it's really cool........"
"really?" kangta asked hopefully.
"yeah! i have a brochure here somewhere, "heejun muttered as he searched thru the clutter on the coffee table. "where is dat damn thing? ah, here it is!"
he read from the blue brochure. " tuck into fresh, succulent seafood as u enjoy the breathtaking seaview......a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience! dun miss it!!!"
" cool....."kangta breathed. "thanks, hyung......"
"no problem, " heejun bounced back onto the sofa again.
kangta frowned. "but somehow, it doesn't seem special enough....u know what i mean?"
tony snorted. "dating is never special........it's always the same stuff.....eating, shopping, watching movies, clubbing, making out.....how exciting do u expect it to get?? u plan to kidnap her or something? " he chuckled, shaking his head at his own silly idea.
kangta was looking at tony in concentration. he seemed to be considering what tony juss sed.
tony spluttered," kangta!!!!! u're seriously not thinking of doing dat, are u??? oh god, i was juss KIDDING!!!!!!"
"why not? it seems fun......"kangta sed excitedly. "of course, we must firstly make sure we dun scare my darling shina.....but it's a cool idea."
"wait....what do u mean 'we'? "heejun asked suspiciously. "i'm not getting involved!!!!!"
"please....."kangta turned to tony and heejun with his brown puppy eyes, acting all pathetic. it was juss too much to bear.
"oh, ok, "tony agreed, looking away. heejun mumbled some incoherent answer.
kangta beamed. "GREAT!!! u guys are the best!!!! okies, dis is wat we're gonna do......" he sed confidentially as the 3 guys huddled together.

* the anniversary day *
it was 6 in the evening, and shina was pacing about the house anxiously. she had spent all afternoon getting ready for tonite, and she was pleased with how she looked. now she was juss waiting for queenie's call.
"i hope everything will be ok, " she whispered as she crossed her fingers.
* ring ring *
shina dashed for the phone. "hello??"
"shina!!! we got him!!!!" queenie cried excitedly.
"really?"
"yeah, " she chuckled. " ur poor boy is so scared now...dapheny's trying to calm him down......" shina could hear muffled cries for help in the background.
"help! what do u crazy gals want?? dun rape me....i'm a virgin!" kangta pleaded.
queenie giggled. "we blindfolded him, and altered our voices, so he won't be able to tell it's us, "
"dun scare my darling too much ok?" shina sed anxiously, as she twirled the telephone cord in her hand.
queenie snorted. "dun worry, leave it to us....HEY U, SHUT UP!!!" she yelled at kangta who was whimpering pitifully. "geez, ur guy is making such a fuss. dapheny is having a hard time holding him down. "
shina couldn't help giggling. "okies, but remember not to torture him ok? i dun want him emotionally scarred....."
"oh i dunno. he's so fine, i can't guarantee anything, "queenie sed playfully.
"queenie!!!"
"ok ok, we won't hurt ur darling lover boy! anyways, we're on our way to the restaurant now. we'll be there in about half an hour's time. see u then! argH! i have to go now! ur darling is struggling and kicking at poor daph! bye!" * click*
shina smiled to herself, as she put down the phone. after one final check in the mirror, she headed for the door.
"tony? heejun?" she gasped as she opened the door.
the 2 guys smirked as they grabbed her and dragged her towards their waiting car.
"hey! what are u guys doing? let go!!!!!"
chapter 23
from the previous chapter: shina is kidnapped by tony and heejun.
"tony? heejun?" she gasped as she opened the door.

"hey! what are u guys doing? let go!!!!!"
she struggled as they opened the car door of their silver BMW, pushed her in roughly and slammed the door shut. shina rapped against the window, shouting angrily, "heejun! tony! where the hell are u taking me? it's my anniversary today! i have plans! what the fuck are u doing???"
tony and heejun got into the car, and started the engine.
shina leaned forward. "hey! let me go!!! i'm meeting kangta!!! where are u guys taking me?"
heejun smirked mysteriously as he slot a cd into the stereo. the opening strains of ' we can do it' filled the car and he started humming along, ignoring shina.
"tony!!!!!"shina yelled, frustrated, as her gaze rested on the handsome driver.
"calm down, shina, we're taking u somewhere special. u'll thank us for dis."
" damn!!!"shina leaned back on the comfy velvet backseat, and pouted, exasperated. it was pretty obvious dat tony had no intention to stop the car.
a few minutes later, she looked out of the window. "hey, dis place looks vaguely familiar, "shina thought to herself as she surveyed her surroundings. it suddenly struck her.
"hey! "she cried suddenly, and heejun jumped. "where are u taking me?"
tony looked annoyed. "we're reaching soon. dun be so impatient, sweetie."
the sun was setting, and the sky was painted with beautiful hues of orange and yellow. juss then, the floating restaurant came into view, and shina gasped. "oh my gawd, "she whispered. from afar, she could see queenie's red car parked near the dock. queenie looked very exasperated as she checked her watch for the zillionth time. "what's keeping shina?" she muttered angrily. juss then, her eyes widened as she spotted their car approaching. heejun and tony were equally surprised to see queenie and daph.
"hey, what are u doing here?" queenie demanded as tony and heejun hopped out of the car, and shina followed in a daze.
"top secret, " tony smirked. "what about u?"
queenie and daph exchanged unsure looks. "ermmmmm......."daph stammered, when she caught sight of a confused shina. "shina, why are u with them??"
"they kidnapped me, "shina sed wryly.
"what?" queenie and daph were shocked. juss then, loud muffled sounds were heard from the back of queenie's car and the car started rocking like crazy.
"oh shiet~~~! "queenie cupped a hand over her mouth in horror, her eyes wide. "we forgot KANGTA!!!"
"kangta????" heejun and tony exclaimed. they made a mad dash for the car, and their jaws dropped when they saw the sight dat greeted them. kangta was blindfolded with a hello kitty blindfold and a lacy hanky was stuffed into his mouth. his hands were tied behind his back, and two trails of crystalline tears streamed down his flawless cheeks. ( aww, poor oppa~! )
"what the fuck did u do to him? "tony yelled, as he released kangta, and heejun peeled off the blindfold.
kangta blinked. "tony! heejun!!!"he wailed pathetically, as he hugged his friends tightly. "i was sooo scared! some crazed fans captured me and tortured me! they almost raped me! "
heejun and tony patted kangta's back reassuringly. heejun swirled around, his big eyes boring deep into queenie, who shrunk back in fear. daph gulped nervously, while shina was trying hard to stiffle her giggles dat were threatening to erupt any second.
"queenie, u have some explaining to do, "heejun sed coldly.
kangta looked at them questioningly. "what do u mean?" he asked, innocently.
"well, according to our knowledge, they were the ones who kidnapped u! "tony announced, pointing to daph and queenie.
"it's none of our business! it was HER idea!!!"daph protested, pointing at shina, who tried to creep away.
all eyes were on shina now. kangta raised an eyebrow curiously. "shina?" he managed faintly.
shina laughed nervously as she shuffled her feet. "hehehe, it was a joke, i wanted to give u a surprise...."
there was an awkward silence, which was broken by a loud guffaw. everyone stared at heejun.
heejun was holding his stomach in laughter. "oh man, dis is hilarious....u guys sure are a perfect match!!! u thought of the same warped plan~to kidnap each other on ur anniversary! and u even chose the same place!!! oh my gawd!!!!!"he started gasping for breath, as tears trickled down his plump cheeks.
shina and kangta looked at each other and started laughing also. it seemed crazily funny now, as they thought about it. soon after, the rest of them joined in the laughter.
queenie hit heejun. "u din tell me dat u mentioned the restaurant to kangta!"
heejun pouted as he put an arm around her. "u never asked either....."
kangta walked over to shina and took her hand, smiling lovingly at her. " i guess we really make a great match huh?"
shina nodded, her eyes lighting up with happiness and pleasure.
"okies, so what shall we do now?" tony asked.
"i know!!! we can have dinner together!!!"heejun suggested excitedly. "mmmm, i can't wait to taste the delicious grilled lobster again!"
everyone glared at heejun. "what's the matter?"he asked, scared.
tony rapped heejun on the head. "babo!!! it's THEIR anniversary!!! they dun need us around, for heaven's sake!!! "
"oh. " heejun was disappointed. "i din think of dat."
queenie hugged him. "dun worry, oppa, i got a better idea....." she opened her bag. "ta-da! 'the dummies' guide to the top restaurants in korea volume 2'!!!"
heejun's eyes lit up and he hugged queenie back. "thank u!!!! u're such a darling!!!"with dat, they held hands and headed for heejun's car.
"hey, daph! u can have my car! "queenie turned back and tossed her carkeys at daph.
daph caught them deftly. "thanks!!!!!"she called out as she waved to shina and kangta, and drove off to meet eric.
"and i have a date with victoria, "tony sed proudly. "oh shiet, i dun have a car now!!!" he started cursing heejun upon dat realisation, as he walked towards the main road to catch a taxi.
kangta smiled at shina, amused. "shall we go in?"
she nodded as she tightened her grip around kangta's hand and walked towards the floating restaurant.
* at the floating restaurant*
"will dat be all?" the tuxedo-clad waiter asked politely as he repeated their orders.
kangta nodded.
the waiter bowed and strode off. kangta and shina smiled at each other, totally at ease. soft strains of violin playing filled the restaurant, and the soft sea breeze gently ruffled shina's silky locks.
"u look beautiful tonite, "kangta whispered, taking her hand.
"thanks, oppa, "shina looked down and blushed.
kangta smiled. he loved seeing how shy she got whenever he complimented her. in his entire life, he had never been so much in love with any girl. until shina. her presence absolutely swept him off his feet. and as the soft mellow lighting fell upon her, he marvelled at how beautiful she was and how angelic her smile was. 'my precious angel', kangta thought to himself happily. he swallowed, as he tried to sum up courage to say what he wanted to so badly, but no words came out.
"kangta? u ok?" shina asked, concerned.
kangta gulped again. "uh, shina....."he began.
"here's ur champange," the waiter appeared outta nowhere and interrupted kangta's train of thought.
"thanks, "shina smiled, as the waiter proceeded to fill their glasses with the sparkling gold liquid.
"enjoy urself, " the waiter bowed and left.
"shina, i have something to tell u......."
"kangta!!! " a high female voice shrieked excitedly and a teenage gal walked forward. she thrust a piece of paper and a pen in front of a shocked kangta. " oppa, can i have ur autograph??? "
kangta smiled weakly as he scribbled his name quickly and shoved the paper back to the fan, who kissed him on the cheek and ran off, screaming. "i kissed kangta oppa! i kissed kangta oppa! yeah~~~!"
kangta smiled, embarassed, as shina giggled. "what did u wanna say, oppa?"
"oh, i forgot......"kangta stammered, caught unaware.
shina laughed. "oh, here comes our food. mabbe u'll remember better after eating. i think daph and queenie must have shocked u huh?"
kangta laughed uneasily. "damn, stupid fan, "he cursed silently. "i was so close......"
he poked disinterestedly at his salmon. oh wells, i'll tell her later. i hope nothing goes wrong, he thought in resignation.
they ate silently, with occasional chatter from shina. but the happier she was, the more nervous poor kangta got. finally, he pushed the half-eaten salmon away.
"dat's all u're having?"shina asked, surprised. usually, kangta ate a lot more than this.
kangta nodded. shina observed him closely. 'oh my, mabbe he's in shock after dat kidnap ordeal! i wonder whether queenie and daph have scarred him for life! or mabbe he's mad at me for it! but he was so sweet juss now. dis doesn't make sense. but i have to admit, kangta's weird dis evening. and on our anniversary too.' shina sighed in disappointment. 'and his face is drained of color. mabbe he's sick. i wonder whether i should accompany him to the doctor's.'
kangta cleared his throat. "shina, i have something for u....."
shina laughed. " fireworks again?"
"no, not dis time, "kangta grinned, gaining confidence.
"then another blackout?"
"maybe, "kangta sed mischievously. 'wait and see.'
shina leaned back in her seat, wondering what kangta was up to. kangta got up and clapped his hands. the lights in the restaurant dimmed, and strains of 'pray for u" filled the restaurant.
small children slowly walked out from each end of the restaurant, holding lit white candles. they lined up in 3 single files, swaying gently, as they sang along to the romantic melody. the girls were wearing diamond tiaras and soft, frilly, white dresses. the guys were dressed in smart white tuxedoes with red bowties. it was a heavenly sight. tears sprung into shina's eyes.
kangta joined in. ( translated) "i will always be thankful in dis world where i met u, for countless days that will be spread in front of us, i will vow with my hands together at u, i love u, i am always by ur side now, forever....".
shina smiled thru her tears, touched, as the choir sang the last verse of the beautiful ballad in their lilting, clear voices. their candles flickered , the only source of light in the otherwise dim restaurant, and illumininated kangta's handsome face.
as the song ended, kangta walked towards shina. from his back, he produced a gorgeous bouquet of red roses. "for u, shina. " he sed softly, kissing her cheek. "happy anniversary, darling."
shina accepted the bouquet with trembling hands, as she looked at kangta in awe. oh my gosh, can such a perfect guy truly exist? she wondered for the billionth time.
"i love u, oppa, "she sed softly, meaning every single word. she had never been so certain in her entire life.
"i love u too, "kangta sed as he tilted her chin gently and locked lips with her. shina closed her eyes, as she kissed him back passionately.
they finally broke apart, and kangta kissed her tear-stained cheeks lovingly. " shina, i wanna spend everyday of my life with u, to share with u every single moment of my life. because only u can make my life complete, only u can make me feel like the luckiest guy on planet earth. and i want u to know dat i love u alot, and i always will......"
"oppa...."shina sobbed.
kangta reached into his pocket and produced a red velvet box. shina gasped, as she looked at him questioningly.
"dis might seem kinda sudden, "kangta sed softly. 'but i'm sure that u're the one for me. even though i've known u for only 1 month, i feel like i've known u forever. shina, will u marry me?"
the dazzling diamond ring sparkled in the dark, and shina was intrigued. it was beautiful, she thought, but what made it even more beautiful, was the significance it held. a promise of an everlasting love between kangta and her.
shina nodded finally, smiling. kangta was right, time was not a factor. even though they had known each other for a short period of time, and marriage was a serious affair, she knew she was making the right decision. and anyways, she had fallen in love with kangta ever since she first laid eyes on him in h.o.t's 1st jib, and her love for him had never changed. and she was so glad dat he felt the same way about her.
kangta heaved a sigh of relief, as he smiled broadly and kissed the tip of her nose. "thank u, shina, thank u, "he whispered as he ran his fingers thru her hair. "u dunno how much dis means to me."
shina closed her eyes, as she inhaled kangta's cologne. the familiar scent made her smile, as she tightened her arms around him.
he gently removed the ring from the velvet case and slid it on shina's slender finger. it fit prefectly. the platinum ring glimmered against shina's tan skin, and the diamond sparkled brightly, as bright as the special love they shared.
chapter 24.
shina and kangta smiled at each other, fantasising about the beautiful life dat lay ahead of them.
"i promise i'll make u happy, darling, "kangta whispered, as he gently caressed her cheek.
"i have no doubts about dat. i'm already the happiest gal there ever was with u, oppa, " shina answered as she looked deep into kangta's beautiful brown eyes.
kangta held her close, never wanting to let go of her. "stay with me tonight, shina......ok?"
shina smiled to herself as she nodded slightly. "ok, oppa....."
they remained like dat, in each other's arms, oblivious to their surroundings. all shina was aware of was the warmth and incredible happiness dat flooded over her......

* at heejun's house*
heejun's eyes were glued to the enormous tv screen, as they watched the latest episode of shinhwa changjo. he laughed loudly as he stuffed more popcorn into his mouth.
"oh man! "he spluttered. "dat's so funny~!"
queenie sighed as she rested her head on heejun's manly chest. she wished heejun would take his eyes off the screen and pay more attention to her. she missed how attentive and devoted he was when he was first wooing her, and she hated herself for discouraging him in the past, and for treating him so meanly. she was madly in love with heejun now, but he din seem to notice it. in fact, it now seemed dat she was more interested in him than he was in her. "talk about irony...." queenie thought to herself with a sigh.
heejun pushed her away lightly as he reached for more popcorn. queenie sulked. she snatched the popcorn out of his hands and reached for the remote. the screen blinked and went blank, as she hit the 'off' button.
"hey, wat's the matter?" heejun asked, annoyed.
queenie smirked seductively as she gently edged closer to heejun and wrapped her arms around his neck. looking deep into his eyes, she closed her eyes and tasted those sexy luscious lips of her lover. heejun's eyes widened, but he eagerly responded. they kissed passionately for a long time, until they broke apart, panting and breathless.
queenie gently stroked heejun's cheek, as she admired his beautiful features. those big, expressive eyes, dat perfect nose, and those gorgeous lips which curved into his trademark smile dat set her heart aflutter. "junnie, i love u...." she whispered softly.
"i love u too, "heejun smiled as he lay her down on the sofa and started kissing her passionately. his lips trailed down to her neck and he began sucking at her tender flesh erotically. queenie moaned, as she closed her eyes blissfully.
heejun's lips proceeded down to her chest. with one hand, he expertly slid off her top and unclasped her bra. queenie moaned again as he started fondling her breasts lovingly........
"heejun...." she whispered suddenly, wanting to say what had been on her mind all nite. "let's get married......"
heejun stopped kissing her and looked up, taken aback.
"what?" he asked, disbelievingly.
queenie gulped, nervous and embarassed. "i sed, let's get married.....ok?"
heejun got up immediately and ran his fingers through his red hair awkwardly, unsure of how to answer her. queenie sat up also, as she put on her top, avoiding his gaze the whole time. her heart was thumping like crazy as she waited for his answer.
"queenie," heejun sighed finally. "i........" he broke off and studied his hands intead, uncertain of himself. his brow was furrowed and his usually cheerful face was set in a deep frown.
tears sprung into queenie's eyes, and her face got all warm in embarassment and anger. it was obvious what heejun's answer was gonna be, no, he din wanna marry her. guys!!! she thought in disgust, as tears rolled down her cheeks. they're all the same. incapable of commitment. and i thought u were differernt, moon heejun! well, i was wrong!!!!
she got up quickly, trying to preserve whatever shred of dignity and pride she had left. she hated herself for spoiling dat moment of passion, but she figured it was a blessing in disguise dat she could finally see heejun's true colors. and she din wanna have anything to do with him forever.
"goodbye, "she sed coldly, as she grabbed her handbag and headed for the door. heejun looked up in surprise, and his heart ached to see queenie's tear-stained face flushed with fury and humiliation. he knew dat it had taken alot of guts for her to propose, but he din know how to react, especially when.........
queenie clenched her jaw as she opened the heavy main door and stormed out. "queenie! "heejun shouted, as he chased after her. "queenie~!"
the door slammed in his face. " ouch!!!" heejun cried out in pain as he nursed his bruised nose. but the overwhelming pain did not stop him from chasing after his sweetheart. he reached for the knob and tugged at the door, to be greeted by a very depressed tony. his shoulders were hunched and he looked tired and crestfallen.
"tony! "heejun exclaimed. "what happened?"
tony sighed as he trudged into the living room. "it's all ur fault, hyung! u took the car, so i had to hail a taxi. and the freaking taxi driver robbed me of all my money and valuables and dumped me at some deserted place! i had to walk all the way back, and it took me like, 5 hours! and victoria's gonna be mad at me for standing her up!"he buried his head in his hands and started sobbing hysterically.
"hmmm, "heejun sed distractedly, as he searched for queenie. he caught sight of a dark shadow turning the corner and ran out of the house........
"and i dirtied my hugo boss shirt......" tony whimpered. when there was no reply, he looked up, sniffing. "damn, where has heejun disappeared to? dat heartless jerk!!!!!" he started crying again in self-pity.

queenie turned the corner, her tears spilling down endlessly. she couldn't believe what had juss happened. she had never been so humiliated before; usually it was her who rejected guys, but now she was on the receiving end. "damn u, moon heejun, damn u........." she kicked at a stone furiously.
she heard the pitter patter of footsteps behind her and she froze. it was already past midnight and the entire street was deserted. her heart started racing as the footsteps came nearer and nearer.......she quickened her footsteps, not daring to look behind. but the mysterious stranger continued following her. she was about to break into a run, when a cold hand grabbed her arm. "argh!!!!!!!! "she screamed, terrified, as she turned around and started hitting at her stalker.
"queenie!" heejun's strong hands circled her wrists.
queenie stopped hitting him, and heaved a sigh of relief. "oh, it's u....."
heejun smiled at her, amused. queenie then remembered dat she was supposed to be mad at him, and she shook off his grip roughly.
"go away, " she turned away coldly. "i dun wanna see u. we're finished."
"no, wait, queenie, listen to me!" heejun protested, spinning her around, so dat she faced him.
queenie glared at him. "what do u want? haven't i made a fool of myself enough?"
"queenie, i know my reaction juss now hurt u alot. u have every reason to be mad at me, but i hope u'll hear me out. i was taken offguard and i din know what to say dat very instant.....i'm sorry....."
"excuses excuses! "queenie rolled her eyes. "i'm not listening to dis crap!" she made to walk off.
heejun grabbed her from behind and spun her around. before she could protest, she felt his lips on hers, tasting her hungrily. she resisted but he wrapped his strong arms around her even tighter.
"u know something, queenie?" heejun asked softly as he finally released her.
"u know why i reacted like dat juss now?"
queenie shook her head.
heejun took out a purple velvet case from his pocket and opened it slowly. there, embedded in the soft deep velvet was a precious heart-shaped diamond ring, dat glistened in the dark. queenie gasped, as she looked at heejun searchingly.
heejun gently slid the ring onto queenie's finger. "i wanted to give this to u all along, but i never had the chance to. i was afraid dat u might turn me down. but now's the right time."he kissed her lips softly.
"i wanted to be the one to propose."he chuckled. "it's not something for a girl to do."
queenie blushed as she stared at the beautiful ring then at heejun's twinkling eyes. "i love u, oppa." she cried as she flung her arms around heejun. heejun laughed as he lifted her up and twirled her around, with queenie giggling hysterically.
"yeah~~! i'm getting married!!!"heejun shouted loudly.
"yikes! put me down, junnie!!! i'm getting dizzy!" queenie shrieked as she hit heejun on the back. he put her down obediently, and they sealed their romance with a long, passionate kiss.

* in minwoo's apartment*
i tried concentrating on my magazine, but i kept getting distracted. i had been reading the same stupid paragraph for the past half hour, and i still din know what it was about. images of minwoo and jessica kept floating in my mind and i wondered why minwoo hadn't called. it had been 3 whole days since he left for new york, and these days had been pure torture for me. i missed him so badly, and it seemed dat my assumptions about his betrayal was coming true. and i din dare do out, cos the whole herd of reporters would be waiting below the flat. it hurt badly to be labelled a slut and accused of being the third party between minwoo and jessica, when it was NOT the truth! everywhere i went, i was greeted with hateful looks and smirks.
* sigh* i guess it was better staying in the comfort of my own home, but the loneliness was driving me crazy..........
juss then, the phone rang.
"hello?" i answered the phone in a disinterested tone.
"lizzie!!!!! it's me!!!!! i'm getting married!!!!!!" queenie shrieked, giggling.
"oh really? congrats,"i tried to sound cheerful about it.
"hmm," queenie was disappointed. "u dun sound very excited for me."
"i am, "i sighed. "it's juss dat.......i'm having a bad day, sorry."
"i understand... " queenie sed sympathetically. "i'm sorry to bother u, but i juss had to tell someone! and u're my best friend......"
"i know, i'm glad u did, and i'm really happy for u."
"be my bridesmaid ok?" queenie sed excitedly.
i smiled despite myself. "we'll talk about dis later ok?"
queenie pouted. "ok, well, i gotta go now. my darling's calling me! nite nite!"
"goodnight, "i hung up the phone. i was happy for queenie, but i couldn't summon up sufficient enthusiasm about the whole affair.
* ring ring*
*sigh* it must be queenie again......
"hello, queenie, what is it dis time?"
"lizzie?" my heart skipped a beat at dat familiar voice.
"lizzie?" minwoo repeated. "are u there?"
"yeah, "
"are u ok? u sound kinda weird," minwoo asked, concerned.
"i'm fine, "i lied.
"dun bluff me, i know u're upset. i've seen those reports."
tears filled my eyes again, and i tried to stop them from spilling over. juss the sound of his tender voice brought back so many many memories, both sweet and bitter. but mostly bitter.......
"forget it, minwoo, "i managed, closing my eyes. "i'm so tired of everything...."
"what do u mean?" he asked quietly.
there was silence for awhile. "i mean, i wanna break up....i think dat's the best solution, "i sed finally. a terrible ache was tearing at my heart, pulling it apart, as i uttered those words......
"cos of those reports??" minwoo raised his voice. " what the hell!!! liz, do u know what u're talking about??"
"yes!" i shouted back angrily. "yes, i know everything, lee minwoo! u incorrigible flirt! u heartless JERK!!! u never really loved me, did u? all those reports are true! u never change!!!"
minwoo was breathing heavily on the other end, and i could tell he was getting mad.
"u've got nothing to say now, right? u bastard!" i challenged, as i wiped my tears away.
"look! it's useless explaining anything, cos u'll never believe me!!! u never trusted me! even if i sed i loved u now, u'll still hate me! what do u want me to do???" minwoo yelled, frustrated.
"fine!!! we're finished, i dun wanna have anything more to do with u, lee minwoo! u're the worst mistake i ever made in my entire fucking life and i wish i never knew u!" i slammed the phone down with all my might and all the pent-up emotions gushed over me. anger, frustration, worry, distrust, pain, hurt......
i was relieved to release everything, to put an end to all dis pain finally. yet, as my tears flowed down uncontrollably, the intense regret and grief within me reminded me of the romance minwoo and i once shared. and despite it all, i know i was lying to myself, dat i'll never be able to forget minwoo......
