CHAPTER-3
THE PORTKEY
By Saturday morning, she had all her things packed and ready to go. Samson was in his basket, because Professor McGonagall had said she was allowed to take him with her. Her dad took her to the airport, they kissed and said goodbye. She boarded the plane and sat next to a window. The plane started to move. Even though she was used to leaving for school. She had never gone so far away from her dad, this made her a little nervous.
The plane made a stop at North Carolina, where she had to board another plane, before going oversees. Madison had no idea how long it took her to get to London, but it seemed days for her.
“Ok, Samson, we’re here. But where do we go now?”
She got her luggage and decided to go to the lobby.
“Now, Professor McGonagall said we’d know how to get to Kings Cross, but I don’t!”
At that moment a man in uniform walked up to her.
“Ms. Othera, I believe this is yours”
He had given her a little box, which was addressed to her. She opened it and saw a little figurine of a black cat inside. She picked it up and suddenly felt very strange. When she looked up, she was no longer in the airport. She was in a room in front of a man.
“Welcome Ms. Othera. We have been expecting you. I am Tom the innkeeper and owner. Follow me to you room.”
He picked up her luggage and started to climb the stairs. Madison was speechless, but, with Samson in her arms, she followed him. They got to a door with a brass number eleven on it, which Tom opened.
“Here you are Ms. Othera. There had been a reservation done for you beforehand so you could stay here. Tomorrow at nine o’clock, a car will take you to King's Cross Station.”
“Where are we? How did I get here?” Madison had finally gotten her voice back
“This is The Leaky Cauldron, you're in London. You got here with a portkey. You’ll learn more about that later in school. If you don’t have anymore questions, I’ll leave you so you can get some rest. Tomorrow is a big day for you.”
Unfortunately, for Madison, she had so many questions, but didn’t dare ask for she knew she would only become more confused.
“Good night” and he closed the door as he left
“Good night” Madison replied in a whisper
She looked around. There was a big comfortable looking bed, furniture, and a fireplace all lit up.
“It’s been a long day, Samson. Let’s get some rest,” she said. |
