Welcome to "The Ticzon Family Genealogy" web site, the purpose of this web site is to facilitate all missing connections and to encourage all my relatives to help me search beyond our roots in China, to solve the mysteries and to unite all the families. Who knows? We may even discover that we are of royal descent.

      I have done considerable research on the Ticzon genealogy and also on the historical events relevant to the various family members, yet I'm sure there are more facts that still need to be unearthed. The site contains information on three subject areas: Genealogy, Individual Family History, and Political History of some Families. Family History is the research of historical circumstances surrounding family events, while Genealogy is the research and documentation of family lineage.

      The desire to obtain a deeper knowledge of my ancestors, to put flesh into their bones, and to make them live again, if only in my own mind, gave me the incentive to embark on a project that ultimately led to the Ticzon web site. Although my genealogy research is mainly a cold gathering of information, I often found myself breathing life into the facts. In my initial search for my departed relatives, I imagined being called by those ancestors, encouraging me to tell their story.

      Before the many graves where I stood and cried in that vision, a feeling of love constantly engulfed me, urging me to carry on with my endeavor. Knowing the story of my ancestors gave me a total understanding of my existence. I learned of their struggles to succeed and to build a respectable life. I am proud to be a descendant of achievers that made me want to keep their memory alive forever. It is because of them that I and my siblings obtained a legacy. These are adequate reasons for me to create this web site in order to tell their stories.

      I started the site on March 4, 2000. I longed to gather a multitude of Ticzons in my search. It wasn't at all disappointing, for during the period of my pursuit, I was able to make numerous personal contacts, relatives and other people, who made it possible for me to create this site. Through the years, I have significantly increased my knowledge about the Ticzon family tree but somehow tended to focus on my own lineage. However, my research is a continuing process and it is my hope that information already established will assist you in your search for your own lineage.

      I am constantly trying to enhance my research, thanks to the encouragement of all who have visited the site. The internet is such a wonderful invention. My father's ancestors are of Chinese origin. From China, they migrated to the Philippines prior to the Spanish Regime. They finally settled in San Pablo City, Province of Laguna. There they married with descendants of San Pablo's Spanish families and native Filipinos. They were married to multi-nationals, Americans (with no known heritage), French, German, Chinese, Greek, Korean, Mexican, Peruvian, Australian, Polish, Indonesian, etc.

      Ours is a family quite diverse and unique. I had a good upbringing and am quite proud of my family. My grandparents did not live long enough to see me as their grandchild. Therefore, I never knew them, but I know them now. Discovering my roots provided me with a positive outlook on my life. I treasure their memory, for their own good qualities, despite their human indiscretions and imperfections. Genealogy research is not just a name-gathering process.

      It is an opportunity to acquaint ourselves with our predecessors and of being able to imagine ourselves as part of their past. I have personally delighted looking at my ancestors' old photos and reading their stained or almost faded letters. I have come to know them as living individuals. I'm now sharing with you my discoveries. You, too, can contribute to this web site by giving me additional information of our Ticzon ancestry that we can integrate into this web site. We can make family links grow more in number. You will realize it is a very worthy undertaking.

      Here's to my family and relatives, young and old. One of these days, I hope to meet more relatives I have not had a chance to know. Cheers to those who I have already met!
