June 11, 2008 - Wednesday

Hot and sunny.

Today was a good day. I had a long relaxing day at home. I managed to survive today without using the air conditioner which was really good. If I manage to time it right, opening the living room window and the bedroom window gives a fairly good crosswind and keeps the living room cool. The bedroom window opens onto the driveway/parking space, so if people are going to work it can get pretty noisy with the windows open.

In the afternoon I watched Cold Case, and then Grey's Anatomy. I made my late late lunch then too. I had some roast pork sandwiches, plus some of the veggies from the roast sauted. They were very very yummy!

When Fumihiko came home from work, he was tired. Always tired! He rested for a while and then we went to the drugstore. I needed some sweetener for my coffee and I wanted his opinion on something for one of my nieces. We ended up buying the something because it's really cute, and hopefully she'll like it.

We had dinner at the okonomiyaki place that we went to a couple of weeks ago. It was great. We had different kinds this time, so we could share what we had, and try different things. I had it made with udon and cheese, Fumihiko had his with yakisoba and shrimp. We had some fried tofu on the side too. It was so filling. We had talked about getting ice cream afterwards but I was too full. I think Fumihiko was good to go for some, but I wouldn't let him. He's had enough ice cream this month already!

We came home and I made coffee while he did his "apartment work." Every year in our building someone has to collect the fees for things like parking or charities and this year it's Fumihiko's turn. I suppose technically it should be "our" turn, but sadly I don't speak or read Japanese well enough to do the job. Am I really upset about it? Well, um...er...no. Not really. Just wish hubby didn't have to be stressed out about it.

Fumihiko did the bath and bed thing rather early tonight. I'm blogging but it's a little earlier than I've been doing it lately. Yay me. Last night, I tried to go to bed earlier but ended up listening to a good podcast and didn't. Oh dear.

Anyway, that's about it for me. I've had a pretty nice day off. Tomorrow I have two late classes. No plans for dinner either. I could make pasta but don't know if hubby would like that or not.
