A bit rainy, with a clear evening.
Today was an okay day, although it didn't start that way. I went to bed a little earlier than usual but couldn't sleep. I had taken a couple of tylenol before bed and the caffeine in them kept me awake. Of course, I'd totally forgotten that there is caffeine in pain medication. Sigh. I lay awake for ages, then finally managed to get some sleep.
I woke up when Fumihiko was still banging around the apartment. I usually don't wake up completely but I did today. I got up just after he left and stayed up. I was up before my alarms. Unbelievable!
I had a quiet day around the apartment. My neck is still really sore. I "borrowed" a couple of Fumihiko's sticky plasters for it. The first one I put on without looking in a mirror was a big mess, but it did the job. It has helped somewhat. I wrote 3 new Christmas Cards and then watched a Friend's DVD.
I went to my school around 4 and found my school warmish, but not as warm as I hoped. I hadn't got the timer quite right. I got busy. I had a lot of things to do and not much time to do them in. My classes went quite well today. In the first one, we finished the first half of the text and the boy got a surprise test. He did very very well, so I think he's ready for part two. In the other class the two ladies also did well. They're quite talkative and it's a bit hard to keep them on topic and quiet. As my school is in an apartment I worry about the neighbours complaining!
When I was finished everything at the school I called Fumihiko and asked him to come and get me. He did, and we came home. Tonight I was going to be a cooking fool!
I made my new standby, and firm favourite, chicken stirfry. I cut the pieces of chicken a little bit smaller, so that they'd cook faster, then threw them in the stirfry pan. After a bit I added the veggies (from a bag because I can't be bothered to cut up so many) and a bit of Vietnamese fish sauce and some oyster sauce. Finally, when it was just about done, I added a block of tofu, cut up. I folded that in and let it simmer for a moment to warm up and absorb flavours. Then I served it. Fumihiko wasn't too hungry, which surprised me, but he said it was good. I think I should have added the tofu a bit earlier. Also, I prefer the silk tofu, although the cotton tofu is much easier to pick up with chopsticks.
We had a quiet evening in tonight. We watched Monk which hasn't been on in ages. It was a repeat though. Around midnight we watched Jamie's Chef...one of the Jamie Oliver shows about giving a restaurant to one of his ex-Fifteen trainees. It was very interesting. Not much cooking though.
That's it for today. I'm still in quite a bit of pain and turning my neck is quite hard. It's annoying. I hope that if I get a good night's sleep for a change I'll feel much better. Wish me luck with that.
Got to go, night night!
