Sunny, but cool and very windy.
Today was a pretty good day. Surprisingly for me, I got up before 9 am. I almost didn't know what to do with myself!
I showered, and then did my usual internet stuff. I cooked my brunch around 12 and left for the school just after 1:00. I got to the school quite soon, and finished my set up and check for the first lesson. When the student arrived, we had a good lesson. Today we did numbers and plurals. I think she had fun.
I had a big break after my class and I spent a lot of it reading my Sarah Waters novel. It's her latest one, The Night Watch, set in London during and just after the Second World War. I'm enjoying it, but it hasn't captured my imagination the way some of her other novels have. Still, if I have time this coming week I'll likely be able to finish it.
My next class, the usually rambunctious child, went surprisingly well. He was in high spirits, but generally in good high spirits. We did a listening test today, I did it as an actual test rather than a class exercise and he got 100 percent. I was impressed. Maybe he's learning after all. The only odd thing was that his family was late to pick him up. They're usually early. Oh dear.
My last class of the day had cancelled earlier on. She wasn't feeling well, so had told me she couldn't come today. It was sad, but it meant I was able to go home earlier than I had originally planned.
I changed back to my civvies, then hopped on my bike and came home. What? No hubby? No, not tonight. He had a work party. As he was the guest of honor he had to go.
At home I checked the TV but it was a veritable wasteland, so I turned it off and came back onto my computer. I spent quite a while reading blogs and playing games before I decided to cook my dinner. I made a pot of coffee and while it was brewing, started to fry my chicken. Fumihiko walked in the door as I was doing that, so we chatted about our days. My hubby, he was in his cups!
For some reason, he decided to watch Rocky again. So, he started it again from the beginning, even though last night he'd watched more than half of it. He reclined on the couch and promptly fell asleep, leaving me to watch Rocky again. I surfed the web after dinner and dishes, but as usual found myself drawn into the story. He woke up after the disk cycled back to the main menu. Sigh. If he's the big Rocky fan, how come I'm the one who ends up watching it?
Anyway, that's about it for me for today. I'm quite tired, and I may be going back to the doctor tomorrow. My throat just hasn't gotten better and is constantly dry. The pain in my side is also quite bad at times, so tomorrow may be my last chance to see the doctor before the holiday begins properly. I have two classes in the afternoon as well.
So, I'll talk to you tomorrow night, if I'm able to. Night!
