Rainy.
A strange day. I went to bed fairly early last night, well, early for me anyway. I had taken my medicine after my meal at the party, so I didn't take anymore before bed. I woke up around 3 am in a coughing fit. I decided to get up and eat something so that I could take more medicine. So, that's what I did. I got up, went to the kitchen and made myself an omelette. I have to tell you, at 3:30 that omelette really hit the spot! I took my medicine, did my dishes and then went back to bed. I slept quite well for a couple of hours, then got up for a washroom trip. I couldn't open my eyes, they were quite gummed shut, so I went through the house Audrey Hepburn style (Wait Until Dark) until I took care of business, and then washed my hands and eyes.
I got up for a brief time early on. I had a craving for tuna salad. Fumihiko offered to go out and get me some food, but I really only wanted tuna salad on crispbreads. While he was out, I made my salad and ate it. It was great. He came back with some stuff, which sad to say, was not what I wanted! He tried though, the dear man. He brought shu mei, roasted pork, and then he made us chawanmushi again. That was good! I really liked that. No grit this time. Hurray.
After I ate I took more medicine and went back to sleep. I got up around 5 and checked email and stuff. Fumihiko got up a bit later and we talked about what to do. I was feeling quite a bit better, so I suggested going out for dinner. We did.
We went to Marumatsu, the Japanese restaurant near our house. It's not a great place, but it's not bad either. I had tonkatsu, Fumihiko had some kind of shellfish on rice dish. When we finished, we drove around Tsuruoka park to see if the cherry blossoms were out yet. They're out a little, but not much. It was drizzling, so there weren't many people in the park. That was a bit of a shame.
We came home and Fumihiko subjected me to more of his Amazing Stories Videos. I wouldn't mind so much if he'd ask me if he could watch them. We have tons of videos and tv shows that we should watch, and it would be nice if I was allowed a little bit of input. Especially since it's MY TV and VCR anyway!
Around midnight I made a pot of tea and then hubby took his bath. He's back to work tomorrow. I feel sorry for him. He's had a quiet weekend. Lots of sleeping, cranky sick wife, and bad weather.
I'm off tomorrow and I'm planning to take things easy. I don't have to go out if I don't want to, so I might just veg on the couch. I need to be better by Tuesday evening!
Oh, one good thing, my eyes have practically stopped oozing gross stuff. They feel a little sore, but nothing like they did yesterday. I'm so glad. I think the eye thing bothered me more than the coughing did.
Got to go! Night.
