August 22, 2001 - Wednesday
A busy-ish day today. I only had four classes today, but I did a lot of prep work.
One of my students came back after a long break. It was really nice to see him and
we were using a new book. It was great. It was interesting and I think he enjoyed
class without really knowing that he was learning.
I went out for lunch today, I took a magazine out and went downstairs. I only had
yakiniku-don, but it was good. It's not too expensive either. If I'd gone to the
convenience store I'd likely have spent more, and enjoyed it less, so it was worth
it.
It was raining today. It just poured in fact. It's quite annoying. And of course,
there is a typhoon in Japan right now. It's moving north from what I hear. Someone
told me it might even hit Hokkaido. That's nearly unheard of. So, if I suddenly stop
posting, come and look for me! Just kidding. I remember the one time I experienced
a typhoon. I was trapped in the Tsuruoka train station waiting for a train to Sakata.
The train was about 2 hours late. The wind outside was scary. I saw some flags
and they were flying straight out in the wind. I was very glad that I had arrived before
the typhoon. I might have blown away if I hadn't.
I'm digressing again. Charmed isn't on tonight, and I'm just killing time until I
go to bed. In fact, I think I'll go soon.
