More goofing off in Hexham. Great walking area - Tim and I hiked down the river for quite a ways until we realized we'd lost sight of the village and it was getting dark. It's amazing how much faster you can travel on the way HOME... LOL.
Newer buildings in the Lake District - lovely villages and lakeviews for miles.
Beatrix Potter's cottage in the village of Sawrey was quite exciting for me. I've been a fan of hers since my childhood. I hadn't realized just how much Lake District land and livestock she owned during her time! Also, in each of the rooms of her cottage, they had the little Peter Rabbit books opened to drawings that depicted that room. It was lovely !
