About 8,000 years ago the Devorae Imperium Maelstrom fleet encountered a space-time anomaly. A large portion of the fleet became engulfed within the vortex and were transported to a distant part of the universe. As hundreds of years past, an offshoot to the Imperium was formed. Led by a High Lord and renaming themselves to the Devoras Unity, an ancient warrior sect. The region of space they now wandered was filled with many agressive races and this forced the Unity to adopt new technologies to survive. Most noticable is the fuedal like structure instead of Imperium bueracracy. Also of note is the use of full-bodied battle armor. This armor has servo-actuators for weapon use and fully contained life-support to operate in vaccuum or hostile enviroment. The Unity is a small but well-eqipped organization and quite self-sufficiecnt. The Unity is now led by High Lord Magnus and are now allied with the Shadow Expanse League.
