This meeting was the anniversary of the first meeting that I attended, as I reported on this site at My First Meeting. It was also the meeting at which nominations for offices for the upcoming fiscal year were to be made. At the previous mid-month meeting I had submitted my Candidacy for TGSF Treasurer to Vice-president Lulu, who was the only officer present then. At this meeting, I asked my friend Esmeralda to formally nominate me for the office. I discovered on the following day, when I received my copy of our group's newsletter, that it had been printed in there as well. Most of the offices received only one nomination, although another person was nominated to run for Treasurer as well. The elections will be held by mail in March, and the new officers will assume office in April.
The planned Winter Wear contest was not held, due to lack of participants. Instead, after the business portion of the meeting we all socialized informally. My friend Francesca was there, and had brought a man who had come to visit, after first meeting her in the chat room. After the meeting, Esmeralda and I went for a cup of coffee, before she dropped me off near a BART station for my trip home.
