**WARNING** **WARNING** This page contains MAAAAAAAJOR spoilers!! I'm trying to make a non-spoiler version as of late, but if you do NOT want spoilers, please return to the mainpage now and look at images or something non-spoilerish! ^^;

Heey the page wouldn't be much without this. ^_^ This page is to, if you haven't noticed, dedicate the badly needed attention he deserves to Zangulus, the Bounty Hunter from Slayers TV series and Slayers NEXT! Let's start out with the easy facts.

Full Name: Zangulus (last name unknown)
Age:22
Blood Type: AB
Height: I'm guessing... 6'3"?
Weight: Once again guessing.. 200 lbs. or so?
Hobbies: Swordfighting, collecting bounties, trying to beat Gourry (constantly..)
Occupation: Bounty Hunter
Goals: Hey, only one I know of is beating Gourry

Okay... now onto some more interesting stuff put into plain words. ^.^ Zangulus is my favorite male character on Slayers, if you can't tell, so this may be lengthy...
Now... Zangulus first appears in the anime in Volume 4 of the First TV series, or Episode 13 if you're going by episodes.
P.S. I'm not sure when that is in the manga... ^ ^ Gomenasai!
What Zangulus is, if you haven't picked it up already, is a Bounty Hunter! He's working for someone to get Lina and Gourry. Now, most Gourry or Lina fans are led by this fact to hate Zangulus, but that is why all of them must click here to go to a page where I've stated reasons why just cause you like Gourry or Lina that doesn't mean you should hate Zangulus.
With that out of the way, Zangulus ends up fighting Gourry. This is interesting, because even a novice Slayers fan knows Gourry has the great Sword of Light (Hikari no Ken) and cannot be beaten, blah blah. Well that is where that rumor ENDS! Zangulus has a neato torpedo sword, too! It's called the Demonic Howling Sword and it has a power, too. It can shoot a "potentially dangerous" projectile from it's blade at the opponent, which makes kinda a noise. I guess that's where it got the name "Howling Sword". ^_^

Now... onto other matters of business. Someone I know compared Zangulus to Gourry as Naga is to Lina. This is not so! Zangulus is not a little tag along like Naga to Lina!! In fact... I have some stuff to back this up for sceptics. For example... Naga is not so good at what she does.. I mean... she never really proves a threat to Lina. Zangulus has actually gotten HITS in on Gourry. I mean, his attacks have struck Gourry somewhere and caused damage somehow. If not for Gourry's extreme skill, he'd be a goner. Zangulus even says "You're the first person to even put a scratch on me!" to Gourry when he gets a cut on his cheek. Another thing is, Naga has a really annoying laugh, and I personally think Zangulus has a pretty kakkoii laugh. Whether it be a hysterical laugh, triumphant laugh, or anything else.
And lastly in the comparison between Zangulus and Naga, as my pal Stephanie so wisely put it, "Naga sucks. Zangulus does not."

Mmm... where was I? Oh, yes! His rivalry with Gourry. Now it starts out he just wants to fight him to capture him again, but after their first fight with no sure victor, it becomes kind of an ego thing. Every chance he gets, it's more than just the capture and the bounty: Zangulus wants to win! He's never been beaten before, supposedly, so this is a big thing for him to be beaten by our (second) favorite blonde swordsman. So now Zangulus challenged him everywhere: on a raft, at the theater, at Lina's fake marriage, even waiting on a perilous mountain top! Personally, I just feel kinda sorry for him. Not his fault he was born a vengeful male.
Eh heh...^ ^; I'm not a male basher, honest!
Anyway... this happens through most of the first series right up until the final battle of Zangulus VS Gourry and then...!! Well if you don't know I won't give it away for you. ^_^ I *will* say however, that our wavy-haired bishounen shows up again in NEXT.
He's bishounen to me... ^.^
In NEXT, he first shows up... saving Lina from Gourry?! o o; Yup, that's right folks! Why? Go buy the tape. ^^; Anyway, he still wants a challenge from Gourry, but when asked to help take down Phibrizzo (the whole objective of NEXT) he says he's more of a Lone Wolf. As he leaves, guess who's obsessing over him? ^_~ Yup, Martina! Well, anyway, he helps Lina and Sylpheel (^^; Odd crowd) storm Phibrizzo's temple. It's then that they face off against Phibrizzo, Zangulus as ever wanting to get in the first move. Later, Phibrizzo starts soul-shatterin' >.< and Zangulus... surrenders?! Nope! It's just a trick to try and get in a surprise attack! But then--
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Phibrizzo shatters Zangulus's soul orb!! I won't spoil what happens for you, but in case this has you crying and ringing your monitor's neck (how would one accomplish that? ^^;) just let me tell you Zangulus has to survive for his wedding. ^_~
