The Bicentennial paint job that was put on the Missiles for the cruise. If you can tell if the paint scream remained or if it was removed as soon as the Bicentennial celebration was over let us know.

Here Dave provided a picture of the gig hard at work, and looking pretty good.

We
have made a move to look below decks and I notice something different from when
I was aboard. A TV is in the berthing compartment. I only remember watching TV
on the mess desks or the forward or after TV lounge. I remember the after
lounge was behind M division berthing with the Supply berthing being to
starboard and A-E-R on the port side.
And you couldn't watch TV
on the mess decks when it was movie call. And the master at arms would turn off
the TV's at taps.
Here are some more
pictures that Dave was nice enough to submit.
The
next group of pictures will include a mix of several different photos from
rearming to the Bridge on an anchor watch.
A couple of the boatsinmate's
hard at work.
The other big difference
in photo's from the 70's is the absence of the 3" 50 Cal AA gun mounts and
tubs. After they removed the gun mounts what did they do to the 3"
magazine.
Can you provide input as
to when the Harpoon Quad 4 launchers were installed? The ships last chief
engineer has promised photos from Dewey's final cruise. He was heavily involved
and was the ships photographer.
