Existence... Most cultures define existence as the result of a creative force or awareness spontaneously causing "everything", most would call this force "god". My personal view on a god or godlike model is formed on the basis of the universe existing on it's own merits... For a quick answer some would see it dualistically as "big bang vs. God" well I don't personally view it as that.. I do support the big bang... However, I do not see it as a beginning, rather I see it as a continuing cycle. A universe that explodes from a singularity, only to contract itself again back to the original form.. What happens between the expansion/ contractions is us, as a universal collection of matter and anti matter..i refer to this as the "macro verse". Some would argue that this world is too "perfect" to be a result of "chaos". My answer to this is with the trillions upon trillions of possible scenarios for potential life in this universe, why are we so special? I refer to this viewing of earth as a microverse.. We are without a doubt a part of the earth, and to a degree, it is the only universe we need. (plus a local buzzing around to keep the curiosity flowing) my realization for humanity is that the micro verse tends to think itself the macroverse...
Society... Most people in todays "culture" (in this use i refer mostly to the united states) we have become a culture that is choking itself to death based on it's own founding principles.. What we are seeing through such wonderful ideas is the rise of lawsuits, non privacy, "moralization campaigns" (though not as severe as the 80's), media manipulation, and decreased education. To put this simply.. We have passed the salad days of america folks... Now we too shall join rome. (although it is hard for me to visualize the canadians storming through like the goths) american life is now one that lives by a new set of directives, my favorite being "it is never your fault"... It is no longer required of anyone to take a bit of responsibility for their own lives, why bother when you can blame your parents, get a prescription for prozac, hop on the 401k wagon, have 2.3 kids, a volvo, the house of suburbia and a yellow dog. Then just wait for social security to kick in while you whine about congress? Does this sound at all familiar? Or have i just stereotyped most of the american middle class? My solution you ask? Hahaha, none.. Let the masses choke themselves on their own merits of passing the blame, wait until those 2.3 kids get to pass the blame on to them, how many generations will be subject to this torch passing? I can only laugh as I watch with glee... Being the one to point my finger and say "told you so" when it all comes crashing down...
Religion... As you have probably noticed I do not endorse the popular faiths of the world, this also applies to just about everything... Most people will just argue that religion is to explain events that we, so far, cannot. Do i hate religion? No, if a belief strengthens a person I am all in favor of it. I will disagree with the idea behind it, but when that faith becomes an excuse not to respect others, and in fact condemn them, I remove my support. For instance in the christian ethos some would say "if you do not believe than you are going to hell!, Convert now!" Then they will bicker about "free will which god gives us" well if my will is free, don't I have the freedom to say a resounding no to your attempts at conversion? And then laugh as you condemn me...
Morality... Morality is basically the rules we live our life by. Now the dilemma is what happens when ones morals conflict with another? Does one automatically become "right" or "wrong"? Well if you tie in the religion aspect, yes.. Someone will be right, and someone will be wrong.. And the wrong one is always going to be the other person. When you start saying that "god" justifies your attitude and morals.. Then how can you open yourself to the "opposition's" ideas? And on the same grounds can you even listen to what they say without an ingrained thought popping into your head that this person needs "your" help to make them understand the "righteousness" of what you support? I'm all for understanding where one's idea comes from, but my problem is that too many people are being brought up with only one set of morals ingrained into them... And then everything else becomes "evil". Whereas good and evil are only relative to where you stand as to what is "right" and "wrong". Basic nihilism folks...
"Pop culture" and American society... This is a personal hatred of mine. I loathe the garbage the we are being force fed to think is important. When dealing with music, what we see are large record companies swooping down gobbling up scenes, polishing them off with an image, and selling them to the kids as a new teen rebellion product. And yes.. Bands like manson and korn are coming to mind. What these mtv produced "evils" are doing is streamlining our kids into a simple stereotypical image... How many "original" (as they claim) people do you see that all look the same? Too many for these jaded eyes...their fads and phases will end... And maybe then they will all love country music? As for the older part of society.. We can see how the media plays a major role in controlling thought... How many people were actually concerned with o.j. Simpson killing his wife? As chris rock put it..."now if I see this man, with my wife, driving around in the car I paid for, living in the house i bought, well, I’m not saying I would kill her, but I understand" now this is something I find funny... We are fascinated with a celebrity black male killing his wife? How many other black males have killed their wives? Or white males or anyone? Do we pay attention to the countless untold horrors of our lives? No.. Because we are too busy hearing about presidential blow jobs and bombing arabs to care about what really happens... And I am not talking about "this is how it is in the ghetto" style reality either... What I am talking about is the powers that be manipulating the masses (as they have done for a few thousand years) by changing the game... Before it was the racket of protection.. Conquer.. Establish and protect to receive revenue was the old standard.. Then it became conquer, enslave, and exploit.. And now it is establish, manipulate with propaganda, and collect revenue.. Don't believe me? How many kids were taught growing up that the soviet union was the "enemy"? And then why? Because morality differed folks... Now they are becoming like "us" so we are "friends" now? Funny stuff in my mind...and because of the cold war.. The revenues that could have been invested into health care and social security.. Went into large bombs sitting around as a threat only.. So as a mother dies from breast cancer and her children are left motherless because she could not afford her own health coverage... Everything is ok.. Because we still can fight off the "aggressor". Billions wasted so that we could have a cool drawing to show the world that we are trying to figure out how to put lasers in space... (sdi aka "starwars") but i guess those were just the good old reaganomical 80's...
Wicca, neo paganism, and other new ager religions...have any of you ever bumped into people (mostly teenage white trash) that talk about how they worship an ancient religion that was forgotten over the centuries? And then they label how they invoke various deities...like ancient egyptian gods? Well folks this is wicca.. And other new age "mystical and forgotten but recovered by 40 year old trailer trash a few years ago through divination of a second hand mythology book" and then add a basic code of laws to it... And thus you have what i call the $7.95 amazon.com religion. Interesting how all of this "new found wisdom" came from the 1950's? As if that era was the great one for spiritual discovery..(or have the hippies of the 60's been robbed of that title?)... Also if you look back at the cultures they are using for their "wisdom" you find what were patriarchal based ideas.. based on a dominant MALE deity (ies)... So how does having a goddess as the principal character for this culture work? Simple.. it doesn't, unless of course Zeus and Osiris are transexuals... Now I know what you are saying..doesn't this conflict with my earlier point about supporting religion if it gives strength? No i am not.. I still don't mind if people are "wiccan" but I’ll make damn sure, like everyone else, that they know what the hell they are into... And as far as the people that claim "I am pagan" yet only thinking that pagan means "anti christian" well I have news for you as well..pagan was the established religious orders pre christian...that does not make a modern version of an older ideology pagan... Cuisine...Can there be anything better on this planet than good mexican food? and in odds and ends you can see my drink choices haha but as a soda I do prefer coca cola, what else.. pasta, chinese food.. all the good stuff...
The environment... Personally I do not care about saving the forests so that hippies have trees to hug. I am of the type that wants to see mankind kill itself... Like with disease. Funny how aids wasn't around until we started poking our heads in african jungles that aren't supposed to be messed with.. We deserve aids! And the more it kills, the more the message is heard.. Stay the fukk out of earth! And what about a cure? Well if we manage to cure aids.. I hate to see what nature throws at us next time... Racism...my rule on racism can best be described by Dennis miller "why hate someone on the basis of skin color, when if you talk to them for ten minutes you can find a much better reason to hate them?" This is my basic view on people, I will not hate you until you do something to make me hate you...I dislike those I do not know in general, but this is in no way shape or form limited to skin color... As far as other groups go.. I think the skinheads are the way they are for one of two reasons, 1. They are pointless people with too shallow of an identity to formulate anything on their own, other than what is read to them on a pamphlet so they can feel like they belong to something... Or.... 2. They got beat up by a black kid in second grade and really hold a grudge...this can apply to anyone and any race as well... For those who hate "whites" because they are imperialist oppressive jerks, well get over it...stop whining about losing land or being shipped over.. Get off the wagon and stand on your own two feet... If you are too dumb to get out of hating because of what you do not have, well blame yourself and your own lack of achievement...
Battle of the sexes... The other day I cracked up when I was called "typically male" and later a rapist.. Because of my answer in a chat room to "yes, with a name and profile like this I must be male" for the next half hour or so... I was fed the usual pamphlet info on why I as a man am a rapist and a woman beater... This person did not bother to talk to me, but fire off the reasons why I am the abomination of mankind (this would have been acceptable for other reasons though haha) I told her to come talk to me when she knew who i was and stopped hating me because i have a penis...if you can't tell, I was speaking to a feminazi.. The female counterpart to the male chauvinist... Do I understand what she is saying? Of course.. I agree.. A lot of men are nothing more than walking dicks, but do not apply this to the whole species of us...we are not out to control you. We are not out to just use you as a sexual object. This of course does not apply to the subhumans that are guilty of the claims you make. These men are universally hated by other men for being the walking shit they are. But don't hate all of us because of them. As for men, do not assume every girl thinks you a godlike being. If you personally have the need to beat on women, well, you need to kill yourself.. Satanism...I have had a lot of fun in thinking this one out for you the loyal fan...what we have with satanism is a couple of schools, 1.those who simply follow the Anton Lavey definition of satanism which I call "laveyism"... 2. The loons who run around hailing satan as a living deity (ooo ye' unholy horned one. There are other offshoots such as the temple of set ( a lavey offshoot anyhow) and a few others that love to use latin names to sound more "mysteriis". Now the rising popularity of laveyism I attribute to none other than everyone’s favorite cock rocker marilyn manson. Now we have tons of kids running around claiming to be "satinists" or "satenists" yet not even bothering to learn the proper spelling of their new teen rebellion god. I have a lot of people asking me what my problem with Lavey is... And here is my simple answer... I agree with a lot of his points... Being that most were simply taken from basic nihilism and pomped up with that "magickal" flare, so as to spice it up for the kiddies...mostly because due to the "evil" nature of it, they love to use the tag of "satanism" to frighten their parents and the kids at school...as lavey simply referred to his wisdom as satan... Would it have the same mass appeal to the kids if he labeled it say..."bunny rabbitism"? You tell me folks...
Abortion...now here we hit a popular one...I am personally prochoice...i do not believe in having an unwanted child born in this world...(hell don’t we have enough unwanted people as it is?) Now for the moment I will add a touch of the man i think sums it up best ..george carlin...this is a bit taken from a CD of his called back in town... This is referring to the prolife argument about the sanctity of life..."now if everything that has ever lived, is dead... And everything that is going to live dies.. Where does the sacred part come in? Some people define life as begining at conception.. I define life as beginning about a billion years ago as an ever flowing process." (this man is a legend) haha now one of my funner stabs at the religious reich bible bunch is to use one of their favorite terms against them...one they like to use is that aborted babies are hell spawn for never having the chance to be saved...well.... If we are born with sin.. And these fetuses technically aren't born.. Aren't they sinless? And thus heaven bound? And what of the old testament law of honor thy father and mother? And by this I mean honoring their decision...and now for a more typical rant... Where does this need to kill abortion doctors come from? Preventing murder by causing it? Is this justified by their own faith? I don’t think the bible had much to deal with as far as abortions are concerned...and isn't this a way to avoiding the possible "unholy" birth of a potentially single mother? Yet we have a few wackos out there who decided on their own account to go against their own faith and murder? Not even possibly taking into account that the faith of the mother or doctor may differ? Most surprising in a nation which states freedom of religion in it's constitution...so now you are enforcing your religion on another! So remember moral crusaders... The next time you scream at someone getting an abortion, remember.. They might not fit your own religious and faith standards... The supreme right to decide as to how and what rules will govern their bodies belongs to them, not your morals...
Veganism...you might say that this one kind of goes with my environment stance... As one of the big vegan issues seems to be cow farts affecting the environment...I have heard it all.. Meat will kill you, cows take up too much space, the rainforest is being cut down by ronald mcdonald, people are starving because we use lands that we can grow other crops on for cows...you know what? I don't care...I eat meat, I eat a lot of meat, and I enjoy my meat! Yes as a result I am a little fat on the ass...but I don’t care.. A half assed burger is better than a gluten patty any day...and I don't care if the people in the desert are starving without food... Get out of the fukking desert!! Or eat your camels! Now as far as the whiny little kids that run around suburbia telling me I am a murderer for eating my carne asada, I have this to say to you...grow the fukk up kid! If your white trash ass was any actual threat to anything like mcdonalds.. You wouldn't be around to tell me about your weekend shout along at the local burger joint...and when the hell did you do anything for Africa’s starving populace Mr. High and mighty? Evolution vs. Creation...I decided not to throw this one in religion for a reason, i dont see it as such...on my little chat adventures i often come across kids who say "I don't believe in god, I believe in evolution" or vice versa... But I ask this as an "open minded" (yeah yeah I know) person... When did evolution kill a god? I talked to someone years ago when i was a little idiotic 13 year old about this... And he said what if god created evolution? And I agree... Us sharing a common beginning as sludge doesn't discount a god...on the other hand...why is evolution impossible because of a symbol from a Judaic text? I am often told when I use a biblical argument not to take what i read literally... Well fine.. I won't.. What if adam and eve happened to be slime spores? And the apples were a chemical that caused a mutation? Now I am probably being called blasphemous and insane, but shucky darn...now another thing I find funny is when various peoples say "I am not a gorilla"... Well there, while mentally that may be open for debate...they are right... They aren't from a gorilla...however if they bothered to actually look at the current information we would see that we just share a common ancestor...and in a million years gorillas won't be driving honda's and eating pretzels... (if they survive our deluge) they shall become something that is suited to their needs...
Sexuality...while normally I don't think I would include this(I know my friends will give me hell over it later), in a discussion with a good friend I found that it enlightened her a bit...so I will also write it for you...on matters such as heterosexuality, homosexuality or bisexuality, I don't care... Wherever your pleasure comes from, as long as it is consensual and not causing harm... Go for it...but this also runs into my major point here on promiscuity...I personally do not believe in sex unless you love the person who you share it with...this does not mean for marriage only...my reason for this is thus...when sex is done only for physical pleasure and does not include love, fine... I just don't see the passion involved in it...but when you have a bond of love with someone, the passion of the two of you brings more pleasure to not just the physical nature, but the sensual one as well...I have known many a guy who just made it their purpose to get laid, as I know many a girl the same way...well these people deserve each other...and as children are born to teen mothers with fathers that just look for the next "victim" and think they are just as "mature" as any adult they know...well when you are getting that blood drawn in the paternity test, and the judge orders you to pay half of everything you make at your low paying mall job... And you can't fathom why this "shit is so fukked" well hahaha remember who wanted to have the little time of "pleasure" with someone that didn't care about you either...and remember... This applies to "adults" just as much as the kiddies...don't think I forgot about you...so just what is the point here? Simple...if you hang out with me and think I am cool...don't expect me to sleep with you...because you better believe if I don't love you, it won't happen...
The modern "coffee culture"...this one is more of a personal little attack on a popular theme in california, so I don't know how much it has affected (if at all) your local scene...but here in that oh so infamous land of southern california we average about 1 coffee house per 20 feet, and in itself I don't mind this... However, (yeah you knew this was coming) I have a personal little war with the kids that sit in these shops and do nothing but "think" as they read their little passages on kant, aquinas, and maybe even plato...now I am all for thinking and reading philosophy, but...how do you philosophically justify paying 4 bucks for a lousy cup of coffee? Or does that go into the world of "indulgence"? Now for you youngn's who love to think on the philosophical front... Let's stay out of existentialism (does starbucks exist without the horrible overcharging they give me? Or do I exist if I am not there amongst that world?) I will go for my favorite little school on nihilism (yeah I know) of which it doesn't matter...this is simply a modern thing that will pass in time, 40 year old men do not become "hip" by purchasing double lattes, so all the "lingo" you acquire is meaningless...it will give you no deeper meaning as you stare into that abysmal blackness found within a corrugated paper cup, just maybe a caffeine buzz, and I can think of better beverages for that...so basically, to wrap this up... Don't ask me to join you for a double mocha...because I don't like coffee, or the culture that goes with it...
Anarchy...This is one of those little teen angst topics which I have fun posting...When I see a kid scream "anarchy" I can only laugh, is anarchy possible? Some would scream it is in the worst way, but think of human nature.. there is always an instinct to lead, as well as an instinct to follow one who is dynamic enough to inspire you...Now if we had anarchy.. what would happen? First of all, the mob rule instinct would spawn leaders...because someone will want control of the situation...now obviously this will be more than one person attempting this, thus various mob factions become tribal, which has a form of morality accepted. Now is this anarchy still? or now a tribal system which will eventually become a rival situation, spawning allies, etc...sound familiar? Isn't this what anarchy is against? Or is the call to power too strong for man to overcome his nature?
Humor...So much is lost to being serious...I live my life with humor first, then if I decide something is worthy of getting deeper, I am serious... I have always felt too many points in life are lost because one cannot look at them without a jaded eye (yeah I know, I'm a jaded prick myself, but I do admit it). When I experience new things in life, my "sick" sense of humor often dominates...Becuase of this way of viewing things, nothing really offends me, and I do not get angry with people easily...I think when most people that claim to be of a faith where humility is a key, often miss this...as they are fast to react to any quip directed towards them, and it usually is with an equally "aggressive" remark...For instance, if someone insults you, you might usually take that as an instant insult and attack against them with your own statement ...when the person who made the original statement now has just the reaction they wanted out of you...Now you are so busy trying to think up something or cursing them out with the usual 4 letter vocabulary, that you fail in your own humility, and are now a tad enraged...What I am basically saying here is have a sense of humor about it, most people will not mock you when you don't react with the same weapons they do, and to you christian folks who may be reading this, isnt that turning the other cheek? So perk up, laugh a little, don't take your own ego so seriously...
Integrity...This has been a large subject for my thoughts lately, I am a person who believes in sticking to your ideals..Do I mean a refusal to change? Absolutely not...but what I am referring to is changing your ideals with each new episode of Oprah...If you have to depend on someone to tell you how to think on a daily basis, well... who are you then? You? or an extension of that persons ideals?
Learning...Knowledge, bring me knowledge!! Anyhow, I am a firm believer in never growing complacent, always learn something new...The problem is that too many people don't know what learning is...What learning is to me is challenging your own ideals constantly...Not just adding little new parts to the same theme, but learning all sides to a story.. (and not just a "both" sides you dualistic bastards! haha) Once I have all the info I need I will then make a judgement on where I stand...Does this mean learning every trivial fact I can? No... but I do familiarize myself with as much as possible...Including learning on your own.. and not just accepting blindly the words of anyone...(see integrity)Because when one grows complacent in ideals... one is open to be intellectually crushed when they are challenged by someone who knows your bit, as well as others...
Patience...One of my personal attributes I take pride in is my patience, and I found this to be very beneficial in life...I don't mind waiting for things in line...I dont mind spending forever for an event.. I dont mind a two hour download haha... Anyhow the point to this is that too many people expect things "now", and if this does not happen.. they rant like 3 year old kids that don't get their way...Now is this really a vital event in life that it is worth pouting for? Will 20 minutes kill you? instead of complaining about waiting.. why not think a little? It may keep you busy....
Beauty...As the old saying goes, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...Now why this matters at all here is because of a few opinions of mine as to what some people consider "beauty". To me one who is "beautiful" is not someone who just happens to be attractive in physical features...As a friend of mine said, "you need to have something to hold the interest after you are done gazing at them", and to me, if someone does not have a decent brain behind those eyes, well.. to me that is just an ugly thing..No matter how attractive the person may look physically...If when I talk to them, and they have no concept of reality other than "did you hear what so and so did at the mall", then a disgust rises in me...I feel these people are a waste, and I can not talk to them because I can not sink down to such a social level...(yeah high and mighty me haha) Basically my rant here is that to be self absorbed with the way you look is one thing, but is it really an absorbtion of the self? or of the outer being, one that loses the charm over the years...but what of the mind behind it? Nothing is more beautiful than the one with wit behind the smile...
Change…This is a very personal issue for me… over the last few months I have literally felt myself changing (whether for better or worse time will tell)…I don’t know if it is the fact that someone has influenced a new way of my relating to things..(we all know who she is)..But even my usual manners are changing…I don’t quite have the same fire I did for some things… I sit here at night as I think up subjects here, I rack my brain to see who I am, and more importantly.. what do I mean to those I care about…I feel my moods changing…I feel more compassionate at times, and at others I feel colder than I thought I was capable… My friends and family don't know a lot about what I think ( I guess this part is mostly for them).. they know I am a fairly intelligent person., yet I can’t tell them how I feel about things a lot of the time, and I know that some of my friends and family members look at this page and see what they have as a person amongst them…I can’t help but wonder sometimes if I really can impact the lives of anyone…My love now in life has given me that hope… Even with this all of this in my life I am still frustrated a lot in the fact that I can't do some of the things I wish I could in life …and I desire quite often to leave it all behind… just to leave all those where they are and go somewhere where the trials and tribulations of dealing with my life would change…. So you ask.. what is the lesson here? Fairly simple, even an egotistical bastard like myself needs to move on from things…complacency is a frustrating thing…and to change and add on to the self is a very powerful thing…
Pets... Aren't cats the most wonderful things? I have a cat that is so spiteful the only thing she likes is me...One of these days I will scan a pic for you people...But know that as I am rambling here she is usually sleeping on my lap... cute little thing..oh yeah.. fukk reptiles...
Sleep...One of my personal favorite hobbies is the gift of slumber..besides the obvious reasons of recharging the body etc.. I never have to think about things when I sleep... no need to stress over the small trivial details of my life...When I sleep all things are warm.. all things are safe...I don't have nightmares like a lot of people I know.. Even with all of the "dark" subject matter I surround myself with I am never awoken by bad dreams..To basically surmise what this is all about...Sleep to me is a wonderful thing, it is one of the few things in life I truly appreciate, and I wish others could realize that no matter how bad the day is... this is one time where nothing should ever bother you, and I dont let it...
