Shaman; Haleakala Hew Len, Ph.D., on the Hawaiian tradition:

•  If you are carrying an 'error' in your thoughts, you will perceive the world in a way that is not so. If I look at you and see you as this or that sort of person, it's an incorrect interpretation. What would be the correct interpretation ? The absolute complete interpretation of you ? You are a child of God and I'd better not mess around with you. You see, if I 'm angry with you I'm angry with the Light. And then, oh boy, I'll get into trouble. So -if I'm absolutely clean of any negative perception of you, I will see the Light. But as soon as I see you otherwise I'm shackling you. You can't get out of that. You're lassoed. You're now what Hawaiians call ' a hostage of my thoughts,' you can't move.

•   It's an inside job. If you want to be successful, it's an inside job. Work on yourself.

•  If I'm angry that anger will manifest as cancer or something. If I want that cancer to go, all I have to do is shift my thought. And the way I do it is through a process of saying: " I'm sorry. Forgive me for whatever is going on inside me that causes me to perceive that which is not working for anyone." Once I say "I'm sorry, please forgive me" then the Light will actually shift that thought-form. Only the Light can do that. It will take anger and purify it and neutralize it. Then it will release it and there is nothing left there. The anger will disappear. And then it does something extra. Once there is release and an emptiness, the Light will then put in what is right for you.

Lama; Khemsar Rinpoche, on the Tibetan Yungdrung Bon Tradition:

•  We should perform our body action, speech actions, thought actions with mindfulness while understanding the law of cause and effect. And always try to dedicate ourselves toward doing wholesome deeds, rather than unwholesome deeds. This is our great shamanic way of healing.

•  I think Yungdrung Bon teachings are very relevant today. I think the collective ego of our scientists stops us looking into these things. But everything is there. Millions od dollars could be saved for humanity if we combine both science and the spiritual aspect together. I think both spirituality and science have great things to offer each other... They must come to negotiation a table. Come together, walk together, for the benefit of every being, with the right intent.

Shaman; Andy Baggott, on the Celtic Tradition:

•  I have the cure to all diseases -You !

•  If in this normal reality of a western world I am presented with a problem that I cannot solve, then I go and commune with nature. That changes my consciousness and my thought patterns, and solutions that I hadn't seen with my western consciousness suddenly become apparent.

Shaman;   Juan Matus, on the Yaqui Indian Tradition:

•  Every one of us human beings has two minds. One is totally ours, and it is like a faint voice that always brings us order, directedness, purpose. The other mind is a foreign installation. It brings us conflict, self-assertion, doubts, hopelessness," said don Juan to Carlos.

•  Don't listen to the superficial voice that makes you angry -don Juan said commandingly- Listen to that deeper voice that is going to guide you from now on, the voice that is laughing. Listen to it ! And laugh with it. Laugh ! Laugh !

•  To be a sorcerer -don Juan continued- doesn't mean to practice witchcraft, or to work to affect people, or to be possessed by demons. To be a sorcerer means to reach a level of awareness that makes inconceivable things available. The term 'sorcery' is inadequate to express what sorcerers do, and so is the term 'shamanism.' The actions of sorcerers are exclusively in the realm of the abstract, the impersonal. Sorcerers struggle to reach a goal that has nothing to do with the quests of an average man. Sorcerers' aspirations are to reach infinityand to be conscious of it.
A comment from Carlos Castaneda:   ...I didn't have to ask him for clarifications. My keenness of thought should have surprised me, but it didn't at all. I knew at that moment that I had always been crystal clear, merely playing dumb for someone else's benefit.
-from; The Active Side of Infinity, Carlos Castaneda
